Expanding Culinary Creativity Through A Cooking Contest

A very pleasant day to all Hivers out there! I am @lovelyclaire and for today's blog, I will be sharing with you all my first-ever culinary or cooking contest. As a beginner to this kind of competition, I was very nervous at that time because I was surrounded by many experts and skillful students in terms of cooking as well.

Perhaps, I thank god that I am not alone in this competition since I also have my two classmates in the contest that I consider as my friends too.

With the support of my co-members in this competition, helped me encourage myself and boost my motivation to try harder even when I am surrounded by different young talented, and beautiful contenders.

Discovering My Potential in Cooking

Just like what I said earlier I was very nervous and anxious surrounded by many people since the competition was held at the center stage of our school campus and to add up I had a fear of crowds.

I know that it is important to show your talents and skills to other people, not in the form of bragging about it but discerning and inspiring another student that there are something which is skills that they can also harbor in a way of using each of our time significantly.

Okay so here is the story of why I was chosen as one of the representatives in my section as a contender in competing against other students who also had a passion for cooking.

Since I was a kid I have always wanted to try new things that I couldn't do before due to lack of confidence and my insecurities.

I always had a passion for cooking and in every cooking activity we had during our TLE subject, I always led my group in finding and doing recipes.

Some said that they like what I cook and maybe that's the reason why they chose me for this competition.

During the competition

When the day of the competition started my group mates started to prepare the recipe that we would be going to cook during the contest.

So we bought those ingredients at the nearest supermarket at our school during the lunch break since the contest will start at exactly 1:00 p.m.

The criteria is that we will be cooking salad, any type of it. We cook bound salad where the main recipe is a macaroni and we combine it with diced vegetables such as carrots, cucumbers, lettuce, and sweet corn kernels.

I have also taken a snap of the senior highschool students who also had there culinary contest which is fruit carving.

During the awarding, we were placed third among the four sections. I was not sad because I am open to any improvements and besides that, I was still discovering in terms of my potential and skills and I am truly grateful that I am part of this culinary competition.

Overall, I had fun up until the day was over. It was a memorable experience since it was also my first time to join a cooking competition.

I hope you also had fun! And I will see you on my next blog my dear co-hivers! Thanks for passing by my blog! I appreciate it much! ❤️
