Vibes update before official start 19th Feb
Hey guys. I have been busy trying to get Vibes off the ground which is why I havent posted recently too much. I just quickly want to update everyone on what has been happening and what we intend to achieve with this going forward.
First to address the Hive community:
It didnt take long for Vibes to become the most active music community on Hive. Why that is, is fairly obvious. I just want to make some things clear. This competition primary goal is to attract new users to Hive and increase our social footprint.
If you want to provide value to Vibes, you two can help us onboard new people.
As some of you might have noticed, some of the highly rewarded new musicians entering this first week of Vibes have tens of thousands of followers on social media. Even the competition itself requires content placement on Twitter (X). That is on purpose to get the word out about Hive.
Yes, existing Hive users can get rewarded by our curators but for Vibes to go on, we need growth, we need attention from the outside.
This competition is a way to do that.
Just to mention one more thing. Begging and complaining to me about not getting votes will get you blocked. Youre not entitled to anything and curators will vote who they vote at their own discretion.
What has been happening:
So what we are doing right now is firstly targeting the crypto music community. They are more open to trying new blockchains and have an easier time absorbing the difficulty of creating a hive account.
The onboarding we are doing manually for each single musician.
Yes, that is painful. Yes, its extremely time consuming but there is no better option right now for onboarding that will not lead to losing 99% of potential users. So we do it manually, one person at a time.
So far we went through about 80 signup codes. Mostly accounts with 1000-10k followers. Onboarding all of them should double or triple the overall Hive reach on Twitter. Onboarding ofc isnt a 1 time thing, its a process that will take time.
Making a single post is 1 thing, staying and commiting to Hive is another.
Once we are satisfied with results here, we will move to other platforms as well.
Im also exploring partnerships with other NFT communities, specifically on Solana. Considering doing a community giveaway of some pfps for cross promotion. Need to find the right partners.
This is step 2 that will focus more on getting regular users on en masse. For step 1 first we need credible and recognizable musicians to participate.
So far my wife, considering she is a part of the crypto music community has been on about 20 twitter spaces in the last 2 weeks and Im actively talking to various non-crypto music discord groups. Its much harder getting them onboard then crypto savy folks. But we will get there.
How you can help:
Right now we are looking for connections anyone has with the wider music community. Do you follow some Facebook music communities? Know any music podcasters? Are you a part of any non-Hive music Discords? Do you know anyone from any NFT community? Anyone in your local area? I want to meet those people.

This is so interesting, I have quite a good number of musically inclined friends who am looking forward to using this time to onboard. This initiative will surely fly.

Well done on signing up more people. We have to hope some of them will stick with it. I'll be looking out for them.
This should go on every week and create a reason for them to return. Introducing community incentives should add to that.

Next week I'm attending my first Northwest progressive metal community meet up.
Its a traditional community where Every month they get together and jam, trade merge and hang out.
I'll definitely be testing the waters...

I was looking for a place to learn about and monitor all the different metal artists and communities utilizing one of the pillars of web3 technologies.

yes, indeed it did not exist, we were pioneers in this area, in fact we uploaded 5 or 6 albums to spotify plus many posts here in Hive since the beginning of 2018 approximately in the previous blockchain, let's say that I am one of the first or pioneers in the area, we did interviews, we covered extreme metal and rock events in general, we did a weekly rock contest inside hive, We were the first to do them, and hand in hand with LK666 who is also a legendary metalhead of the platform, before me there was already him and CrimsonClad with his metal show every Thursday and other users who uploaded metal monthly to the platform, we are not many but there was a time when there were those two strong movements on the platform. Unfortunately my community was paused for a while since May 2023 for various reasons that have nothing to do with metal, but with the band I have uploaded solo music playing metal or with all the musicians, we have recorded a couple of extreme metal albums and we have uploaded everything in post format, I will see your blog with pleasure and I am at the order if you want to make some links later you can count on us and our team and band.

If I understand this correctly, it's as if those with zero followers on X are not really welcomed but I also understand that the goal is having new users onboard.
Like I told you before I have some friends that might be interested but they don't have account on X but in other social media platforms.
Anyways, I'm still working on convincing them once that is done I'd get made started. This is a good opportunity for them and I hope the don't miss it.

Large accounts just help propagate the word further and faster.
Everyone should work on building their social presence on other platforms as well.
Okay, now I understand it better. I'm definitely going to help them from their presence on X but most of them have quite a good presence on some other social media platforms.

I don't really follow music groups on facebook, nor discord.... But, if I know a lot of musicians outside Hive, because they are part of the symphony orchestra where I was formed as a musician....
If this is something that would interest them that would be great. The other judge for Vibes is a concert master violinist so she would love to see some more classical musicians here.
This is a great project, and I believe that the mission can be accomplished if everyone can join hand together to promote it.
Some people who love music can join hive through the process when the see it twitter and I'll also try to make awareness on my social media network. Hopefully everything is gone work out well, well-done @lordbutterfly for your efforts in promoting music on web3💯

Djs are fine. We had a few already. Another one should do an entry soon as well.
As long as new people continue coming in we can continue rewarding the whole music community on Hive. Its in everyones interest really.

excellent update, I will be very attentive and I will see in what other ways I can help more to achieve the main objective of the contest beyond the main one which is to make cryptomusic here, I will spread the word, although most of the users who published music in our weekly pukumundo contest I have seen them very active in Vibes which I love very much. We developed two albums, you can find them on Spotify and also in physical in discotiendas here in Venezuela, in December 2022. And we bring Hive to more people thanks to this initiative that we were born to publish rock albums of Hive's rock talents abroad, maybe something like this, similar could be a good complement. If you need more information about our work, I would be happy to leave an additional comment as we record everything in a few posts. In fact Hive himself helped with the records,a big pukuhug.
That is an awesome opportunity for every music creator as well as for music enthusiasts. A great project in the making.

In case you choose to publish your posts via inleo then some extra inleo and hive can come to the post which I am sure you could use to support the musicians as well as promote the blockchain.
I do have friends who would every much love this (music lovers) but the thing is they don't have twitter account and might need to sign up for one if they can join this.
