The interaction, the exchange of ideas, the constructive confrontation on different ideas and the sharing of thoughts and experiences are all important elements within a community.

Today I am happy to present to you second edition of the mini contest born from the collaboration between the Olio di Balena community and Leofinance that has a double objective:

• create a moment of interaction and sharing among the users of Olio di Balena
• raise knowledge of a useful tool created by Leofinance for Hive communities: the Community Threads

Mini Contest Topic

What has been your most beautiful and positive emotion you have felt in your life?

Mini Contest Rules

• Rule 1: You must create a Thread within the Olio di Balena community.

• Rule 2: In the thread you must write your thoughts about this question:
  what was your most beautiful and positive emotion you felt in your life?
  Then share your thoughts and why.

• Rule 3: In the thread you must include an image you created or a photo from your personal photo archive or a photo you took pertaining to your passion.
  You may not use photos or images not your own taken from the web.

• Rule 4: you can choose to write your thread in Italian language or English language or both.

• Rule 5: you must be a member of the Whale Oil community.

• Mini Contest Deadline: the contest starts today, September 1, 2023 and ends at midnight (Italian time) on Monday, September 4, 2023.

Mini Contest Prizes

• The 5 Threads that generate the biggest interaction will receive 10 LEO = 1.43 HIVE

• 3 Threads will be chosen randomly and win 1 HBD each

• Your thread could also be voted on by Leofinance

How to Create a Thread in Olio di Balena

(Step-by-step guide)

A Thread is a Twitter-style post created and stored on the Hive blockchain through the use of the Leofinance User Interface (UI)

A Community Thread is a thread posted within a Hive community and viewable within the Communities->"Community Name"->Threads section of the Leofinance UI.

Creating a Community Thread is a very simple task and I will show you the steps to follow.

Step 1: Login to Leofinance.

• Step 1.1: You have to go to https://leofinance.io/ and then you have to click on Log in

• Step 1.2: On the next screen you have several log in options to choose from including:

  • LeoAuth: You have to enter your Hive username, your Posting Key and then you have to click on Log in.
    

  • Log in with Hive KeyChain: You have to enter your Hive username, then you have to click on Log in and then you have to click on Confirm within the Hive Keychain screen.
    

Step 2: Enter the Home Page of the Olio di Balena.

• Step 2.1: You need to click on Communities.
• Step 2.2: You must enter "Olio di Balena" or part of the name in the search field.
• Step 2.3: You must click on the box that contains the logo and name of Olio di Balena

• Alternative Step 2: you need to go directly to the link: https://leofinance.io/communities/hive-146620

Step 3: Create and post the Mini Contest Participation Thread.

• Step 3.1: Within the Home Page of Olio di Balena you need to click on Threads
• Step 3.2: Then you need to enter the text of your thread in the box that contains the #whaleoil tag
• Step 3.3: Then you need to click on Thread in the bottom right corner.

Operation completed! Easy right? ;)

Now all you have to do is participate in this nice mini contest ;)

Advice: If the text of your thread exceeds the maximum capacity of a single thread you can also write a threadstorm.
In this case only in the first thread you have to insert the tags oildibalena and threadstorm and enter the indication 1/x where x is the number of treads your threadstorm contains.
All other threads after the first one you have to insert them as comments to your first threads indicate for each thread the number of the tread such as 2/5, 3/5, ... 5/5

Winners of the First Edition of the Mini Contest (August 4-6, 2023)

Before showcasing the winners of the first mini contest oraganized by the Olio di Balena and Leofinance communities, I want to thank @anomadsoul who contacted me on Discord to propose this beautiful initiative.

Collaboration between Hive projects and communities is a great added value that Hive has and that only a few other blockchain projects have.

During the first mini-contest, the tag oildibalena entered the top 25 tags used in threads.

The first mini-contest had 8 participants even though there were 7 valid entries that followed the rules.

I also participated with this thread but being one of the organizers of the contest I will always be self-excluded from the distribution and drawing of prizes.

The theme of the first mini contest was:
What is your greatest current passion/hobby or your greatest passion you have had in the past.

The first participant was @bencwarmer who shared his great passion for basketball with a beautiful threadstorm.

@stefano.massari participated with two beautiful threads in which he shared two of his great passions:

• formula 1: thread
• music: thread

@p1k4ppa10 shared his two great passions, poker and earning, in this beautiful thread

@arc7icwolf shared his great passion for travel and exploration in this lovely threadstorm

@mikezillo shared his great passion for Yoga in this thread.

Mikezillo was his first time writing a threadstorm and he made a few mistakes by writing 10 threads instead of one threadstorm. No problem, it is normal to make mistakes when using a feature for the first time.
For your next threadstorm you can take this threadstorm as an example ;)

@giuatt07 shared his passion for DIY in this nice thread and also shared some of his interesting thoughts on his youtube channel.

It is time to announce the winners of the prizes.

Note: In the interaction calculation I only considered comments relevant to the thread.

All of the participants I listed above won 10 LEOs each and in the screenshot below you can see the prize distribution that took place.

Luck was a friend to @mikezillo @giuatt07 and @bencwarmer who won 1 HBD.

L'interazione, lo scambio di idee, il confronto costruttivo su idee diverse e la condivisione di pensieri ed esperienze sono tutti elementi importanti all'interno di una comunità.

Oggi sono felice di presentarvi la seconda edizione del mini contest nato dalla collaborazione tra la comunità di Olio di Balena e Leofinance che ha un duplice obiettivo:

• creare un momento di interazione e condivisione tra gli utenti di Olio di Balena
• far conoscere un utile strumento creato da Leofinance per le comunità di Hive: i Community Threads

Mini Contest Rules

• Regola 1: Devi creare un Thread all'interno della comunità di Olio di Balena

• Regola 2: Nel thread devi scrivere qual'è stata la tua emozione più bella e positiva che hai provato nella tua vita?
  Quindi condividi i tuoi pensieri su questo argomento.

• Regola 3: Nel thread devi inserire una tua immagine o una foto del tuo archivio fotografico personale o una foto che hai scattato tu inerente alla tua passione.
  Non puoi utilizzare foto o immagini non tue prese dal web.

Come Creare un thread in Olio di Balena

(Guida passo passo)

Un Thread è un post Twitter-style creato e memorizzato sulla blockchain di Hive tramite l'utilizzo della Leofinance User Interface (UI)

Un Community Thread è un thread pubblicato all'interno di una comunità di Hive e visualizzabile all'interno della sezione Communities->"Nome Comunità"->Threads della Leofinance UI.

Ad esempio i Community threads della comunità di Olio di Balena possono essere creati e visualizzati nella sezione Threads della seguente pagina: https://leofinance.io/communities/hive-146620

Se non hai mai creato un community thread non preoccuparti perchè ti mostrerò in questo post quanto è facile crearne uno ma prima ti mostro le regole per partecipare al mini contest.

Creare un Community Thread è un'operazione molto semplice e ti mostro i passi da seguire.

Passo 1: Login su Leofinance

• Passo 1.1: Devi andare su https://leofinance.io/ e poi devi cliccare su Log in

• Passo 1.2: Nella schermata successiva hai diverse opzioni di log in tra cui scegliere tra cui:
  • LeoAuth: Devi inserire il tuo Hive username, la tua Posting Key e poi devi cliccare su Log in.
    
  • Log in con Hive KeyChain: Devi inserire il tuo Hive username, poi devi cliccare su Log in e poi devi cliccare su Confirm all'interno della schermata di Hive Keychain.

Passo 2: Entrare nella Home Page della comunità di Olio di Balena

• Passo 2.1: Devi cliccare su Communities
• Passo 2.2: Devi inserire nel campo di ricerca "Olio di Balena" o parte del nome.
• Passo 2.3: Devi cliccare sul riquadro che contiene il logo e il nome di Olio di Balena

• Passo 2 alternativo: devi andare direttamente al link: https://leofinance.io/communities/hive-146620

Passo 3: Creare e pubblicare il Thread di partecipazione al mini contest.

• Passo 3.1: All'interno della Home Page di Olio di Balena devi cliccare su Threads
• Passo 3.2: Poi devi inserire il testo del tuo thread nel riquadro che contiene il tag #oliodibalena
• Passo 3.3: Poi devi cliccare su Thread in basso a destra.

Operazione completata! Facile vero? ;)

Adesso non devi fare altro che partecipare a questo bel mini contest ;)

Consiglio: Se il testo del tuo thread è superiore alla capienza massima di un singolo thread puoi anche scrivere un threadstorm.
In questo caso solo nel primo thread devi inserire i tag oliodibalena e threadstorm e inserire l'indicazione 1/x dove x è il numero dei treads che contiene il tuo threadstorm.
Tutti gli altri threads devi inserirli come commento al tuo primo threads indicano per ogni thread il numero del tread come ad esempio 2/5, 3/5, ... 5/5

Vincitori della Prima Edizione del Mini Contest (4-6 agosto 2023)

Prima di mostrare i vincitori del primo mini contest oraganizzato dalla comunità di Olio di Balena e Leofinance voglio ringraziare @anomadsoul che mi ha contattato su Discord per propormi questa bella iniziativa.

La collaborazione tra i progetti e le comunità di Hive è un grande valore aggiunto che ha Hive e che hanno solo pochi altri progetti blockchain.

Grazie al primo mini-contest il tag oliodibalena è entrato nella top 25 dei tag utilizzati nei threads.

Il primo mini contest ha avuto 8 partecipanti anche se le partecipazioni valide che hanno seguito le regole sono state 7.

Ho partecipato anche io con questo thread ma essendo uno degli organizzatori del contest sarò sempre autoescluso dalla distribuzione e dall'estrazione dei premi.

Il tema del primo mini contest era:
Qual'è la tua più grande passione/hobby attuale o la tua più grande passione che hai avuto in passato.

Il primo partecipante è stato @bencwarmer che ha condiviso la sua grande passione per il basket con un bellissimo threadstorm.

@stefano.massari ha partecipato con due bei threads in cui ha condiviso due sue grandi passioni:

• la formula 1: thread
• la musica: thread

@p1k4ppa10 ha condiviso le sue due grandi passioni, poker and earning, in questo bel thread

@arc7icwolf ha condiviso la sua grande passione per i viaggi e l'esplorazione in questo bel threadstorm

@mikezillo ha condiviso la sua grande passione per lo Yoga in questo thread.

Mikezillo era la prima volta che scriveva un threadstorm e ha fatto un pò di confusione scrivendo 10 thread invece di un threadstorm. Nessun problema, è normale fare degli errori quando si usa per la prima volta una funzionalità.
Per il tuo prossimo threadstorm puoi prendere come esempio questo threadstorm ;)

@giuatt07 ha condiviso la sua passione per il Faidate in questo bel thread e ha condiviso anche alcune sue utili considerazioni sul suo canale youtube.
