Hello friends and members of Olio di Balena community!
After a break due to a general restructuring and reorganization of the weekend threading contests by Inleo it's time to restart and today I return to write a new edition of the Olio di Balena - Inleo weekend-contest which is now in its 21st edition.
The Olio di Balena - Inleo mini-contest is the result of a collaboration between the Olio di Balena and InLeo communities and has, as always, a double objective:
- create a moment of interaction and sharing among the users of Olio di Balena
- raise knowledge of a useful tool created by Inleo for Hive communities: the Community Threads
In fact the UI of Inleo is a front-end that can be used to interact and post on all Hive communities such as Peakd and Ecency and also allows writing Community threads.
let me show you what is the new theme of the 20th edition of the weekend threading contest.
New Weekend Contest Topic
For this week's theme, I thought I would reintroduce the focus on our beloved Hive.
The theme for the new contest is:
Write a community thread in which you share the three activities you like to do most on Hive and explain why you chose them!
Important Notes:
- Your thread must also contain 1 photo or 1 image or 1 screenshot
- Enter a photo/image pertaining to the topic of the contest. The photo/image must be your own, it can be a photo/image you have in your photo archive but you cannot use a photo taken from the web even if it is copyright free and you cannot use AI generated photos.
- Threads containing only a photo or only text will not be considered.
Contest Deadline
Start: January 25, 2024
End: Monday, January 29, 2024 - 11:59 p.m. UTC-1
Contest Rules
Rule 1:
You must create a Thread within the Olio di Balena community (= a thread with tag #oliodibalena).
Rule 2:
Write a community thread in which you share the three activities you enjoy doing most on Hive and explain why you chose them!
Important Notes:
Your thread must also contain 1 photo or 1 image or 1 screenshot
Enter a photo/image pertaining to the topic of the contest. The photo/image must be your own, it can be a photo/image you have in your photo archive but you cannot use a photo taken from the web even if it is copyright free and you cannot use AI generated photos.
Threads containing only a photo or only text will not be considered.
Rule 3:
In the thread you must include an image of your own or a photo taken from your personal photo archive or a photo/screenshot you took pertaining to the contest topic.
Rule 4:
you can choose to write your thread in Italian language or English language or both.
Rule 5:
you must be a member of the Olio di Balena community.
Contest DEADLINE:
the contest starts today, January 25, 2024 and ends at 11:59 p.m. (Italian time = UTC+1) on Monday, January 29, 2024.
Contest Prizes
The 5 Threads that generate the biggest interaction will receive 10 LEO = 1.43 HIVE
New IMPORTANT NOTE: If the contest will have 4 or fewer entries, LEO prizes will not be awarded.3 Threads will be chosen randomly and win 1 HBD each
Your thread could also be voted by Inleo
The total prizepool of this week's mini contest has a total value = 50 LEO (=7.16 HIVE) + 3 HBD (=9.61 HIVE) = 16.77 HIVE = $5.16
How to Create a Thread in Olio di Balena
(Step-by-step guide)
A Thread is a Twitter-style post created and stored on the Hive blockchain through the use of the Inleo User Interface (UI)
A Community Thread is a thread posted within a Hive community and viewable within the Communities->"Community Name"->Threads section of the Inleo UI.
Olio di Balena community threads can be created and viewed within the Threads section of the page: https://inleo.io/communities/hive-146620
A thread is viewable in the Olio di Balena community if it contains the tag #oliodibalena
Creating a Community Thread is a very simple task and I will show you the steps to follow.
Step 1: Login to Inleo.
- Step 1.1: You have to go to https://inleo.io/ and then you have to click on Log in
Step 1.2: On the next screen you have several log in options to choose from including: LeoAuth, QR Code, Hivesigner, Hive Keychain
Log in with Hive KeyChain: You have to enter your Hive username, then you have to click on Log in and then you have to click on Confirm within the Hive Keychain screen.
- Log in with LeoAuth: You have to enter your Hive username, your Posting Key and then you have to click on Log in.
Step 2: Enter the Home Page of the Olio di Balena.
- Step 2.1: You need to click on Communities.
- Step 2.2: You must enter "Olio di Balena" or part of the name in the search field.
- Step 2.3: You must click on the box that contains the logo and name of Olio di Balena
- Alternative Step 2: you need to go directly to the link: https://inleo.io/communities/hive-146620
Step 3: Create and post the Contest Participation Thread.
- Step 3.1: Within the Home Page of Olio di Balena you need to click on Threads
- Step 3.2: Then you need to enter the text of your thread in the box that contains the #oliodibalena tag
- Step 3.3: Then you need to click on Thread in the bottom right corner.
Operation completed! Easy right? ;)
Now all you have to do is participate in this nice mini contest ;)
Advice: If the text of your thread exceeds the maximum capacity of a single thread you can also write a threadstorm.
In this case only in the first thread you have to insert:
- the tag oliodibalena
- the tag threadstorm
- the 1/x indication where x is the number of threads your threadstorm contains.
All other threads after the first one you must enter them as comments to your first thread indicating for each thread the number of the tread such as 2/5, 3/5, ... 5/5

In the following image you can see the threadstorm (consisting of 1 thread + 3 comments to my thread) that I created for the Odb-Inleo contest a few weeks ago.
The Participants and the Announcement of the Winners of the 20th edition of the Weekend Contest (January 4, 2024 - January 8, 2024)
In the contest that began on January 4, 2024 and ended on January 8, 2024, there were 6 entries.
The record number of entries stands still at the 17 entries recorded in the mini-contest that ended on Oct. 22, but I am glad that there was an increase in entries.
Participants in the 20th Odb-Inleo weekend contest had to do the task that you can read in the screenshot below.
The first participant in chronological order was @pousinha who set as her main Hive goal for the year 2024 to expand and improve her virtual farm on dCrops.
dCrops is a nice farming game built and developed on Hive's blockchain.
I am also a dCrops player and besides wishing pousinha to achieve her goal I will also try to increase my virtual farm production during this year.

In 2024 duvinca will try to increase her Hive Power (HP) and she also set a goal to achieve: 7k HP.

Now the most pleasant moment of the mini-contest has arrived: awarding prizes to participants!
I thank all the participants for taking the time to participate and I apologize for the delay in distributing the prizes but initially Inleo had planned to make a shorter break of this mini-contest and for this reason I had decided to wait until the restart to publish the new theme and winners together instead of publishing winners and new theme in two separate posts at later times.
Having closed this small parenthesis, let us see right away which threads generated the most interaction.
For the award in LEO, interaction is important = the number of comments received.

Dopo una pausa dovuta ad una ristrutturazione e riorganizzazione generale dei weekend threading contests da parte di Inleo si riparte e oggi ritorno a scrivere una nuova edizione del mini-contest Olio di Balena - Inleo che è arrivato alla ventunesima edizione.
Il mini contest Olio di Balena - Inleo è nato dalla collaborazione tra la comunità di Olio di Balena e InLeo e ha come sempre un duplice obiettivo:
- creare un momento di interazione e condivisione tra gli utenti di Olio di Balena
- far conoscere un utile strumento creato da InLeo per le comunità di Hive: i Community Threads

Un Thread è un post Twitter-style creato e memorizzato sulla blockchain di Hive tramite l'utilizzo della Inleo User Interface (UI)
Un Community Thread è un thread pubblicato all'interno di una comunità di Hive e visualizzabile all'interno della sezione Communities->"Nome Comunità"->Threads della Inleo UI.

Nota Importante: Un thread è visualizzabile nella comunità di Olio di Balena se contiene il tag #oliodibalena
Creare un Community Thread è un'operazione molto semplice e ti mostro i passi da seguire.
Passo 1: Login su InLeo
- Passo 1.1: Devi andare su https://inleo.io/ e poi devi cliccare su Log in
Passo 1.2: Nella schermata successiva hai diverse opzioni di log in tra cui scegliere tra cui: LeoAuth, QR Code, Hivesigner, Hive Keychain
Log in con Hive KeyChain: Devi inserire il tuo Hive username, poi devi cliccare su Log in e poi devi cliccare su Confirm all'interno della schermata di Hive Keychain.
