Hello friends and members of Olio di Balena community!
Today is Thursday, December 14, another weekend is near and the Christmas vacations are also getting closer and closer.
The Christmas atmosphere has pleasantly invaded towns and cities and has also influenced the last two themes of the mini contest born from the collaboration between the Olio di Balena community and InLeo.
As always, the Olio di Balena - Inleo mini contest has a double goal:
- create a moment of interaction and sharing among the users of Olio di Balena
- raise knowledge of a useful tool created by Inleo for Hive communities: the Community Threads
In fact the UI of Inleo is a front-end that can be used to interact and post on all Hive communities such as Peakd and Ecency and also allows writing Community threads.
Let's find out together the theme of the new mini contest and also the winners of the mini contest that ended last Sunday.
New Mini Contest Topic
Again this week I have decided to continue to come up with a very simple task and also continue to maintain a Christmas theme as Christmas 2023 is getting closer.
For this week you need to create a thread within the Odb community and answer the question:
What present would you like to find under your Christmas tree? Why?
Important Notes:
- Your thread must also contain a photo in which Christmas are the main subject of the photo.
- Enter a photo pertaining to the topic of the contest. The photo must be your own, it can be a photo you have in your photo archive but you cannot use a photo taken from the web even if it is copyright free and you cannot use AI generated photos.
- Threads containing only a photo or only text will not be considered.
Mini Contest Deadline
Start: December 14
End: December 17, 2023 - 11:59 p.m. UTC-1
Mini Contest Rules
Rule 1:
You must create a Thread within the Olio di Balena community (= a thread with tag #oliodibalena).
Rule 2:
In your thread: What gift would you like to find under your Christmas tree? Why?.
Important Notes:
Your thread must also contain a photo in which Christmas is the main subject of the photo.
Enter a photo pertaining to the contest topic. The photo must be your own, it can be a photo you have in your photo archive but you cannot use a photo taken from the web even if it is copyright free and you cannot use AI generated photos.
Threads containing only a photo or only text will not be considered.
Rule 3:
In the thread you must include an image of your own or a photo taken from your personal photo archive or a photo/screenshot you took pertaining to the contest topic.
Rule 4:
you can choose to write your thread in Italian language or English language or both.
Rule 5:
you must be a member of the Olio di Balena community.

How to Create a Thread in Olio di Balena
(Step-by-step guide)
A Thread is a Twitter-style post created and stored on the Hive blockchain through the use of the Inleo User Interface (UI)
A Community Thread is a thread posted within a Hive community and viewable within the Communities->"Community Name"->Threads section of the Inleo UI.
Olio di Balena community threads can be created and viewed within the Threads section of the page: https://inleo.io/communities/hive-146620
A thread is viewable in the Olio di Balena community if it contains the tag #oliodibalena
Creating a Community Thread is a very simple task and I will show you the steps to follow.
Note: The rebrand of Leofinance to Inleo happened happened relatively recently and I didn't have time to update the guide that keeps the screenshots of Leofinance but the steps given in my guide are the same to follow on Inleo as well.
In the next mini-contest I hope to be able to also update the screenshots in my guide that will show the new interface ;)
Step 1: Login to Inleo.
- Step 1.1: You have to go to https://inleo.io/ and then you have to click on Log in
Step 1.2: On the next screen you have several log in options to choose from including:
LeoAuth: You have to enter your Hive username, your Posting Key and then you have to click on Log in.
Log in with Hive KeyChain: You have to enter your Hive username, then you have to click on Log in and then you have to click on Confirm within the Hive Keychain screen.
Step 2: Enter the Home Page of the Olio di Balena.
- Step 2.1: You need to click on Communities.
- Step 2.2: You must enter "Olio di Balena" or part of the name in the search field.
- Step 2.3: You must click on the box that contains the logo and name of Olio di Balena
- Alternative Step 2: you need to go directly to the link: https://inleo.io/communities/hive-146620
Step 3: Create and post the Mini Contest Participation Thread.
- Step 3.1: Within the Home Page of Olio di Balena you need to click on Threads
- Step 3.2: Then you need to enter the text of your thread in the box that contains the #oliodibalena tag
- Step 3.3: Then you need to click on Thread in the bottom right corner.
Operation completed! Easy right? ;)
Now all you have to do is participate in this nice mini contest ;)
Advice: If the text of your thread exceeds the maximum capacity of a single thread you can also write a threadstorm.
In this case only in the first thread you have to insert:
- the tag oliodibalena
- the tag threadstorm
- the 1/x indication where x is the number of threads your threadstorm contains.
All other threads after the first one you must enter them as comments to your first thread indicating for each thread the number of the tread such as 2/5, 3/5, ... 5/5

The Participants and the Announcement of the Winners of the Sixteenth Edition of the Mini Contest (December 7 - December 10, 2023)
In the mini contest that ended last weekend (Dec. 10, 2023) there were 7 entries.
That is two more participants than in the previous mini contest and 10 fewer participants than in the mini contest that ended on October 22, 2023, which with 17 participations maintains the record number of participations recorded in 16 editions of the Odb-Inleo contest.
Let's go immediately to find out who were the 7 participants of the previous mini contest and let's also find out their participation threads.

The first participant in chronological order was @chacald.dcymt in her first contest entry.

I think a biker Santa would love this beautiful alternative to the classic reindeer sleigh, and I think Rudolf the reindeer would be happy to rest too :)
chacald.dcymt loves Christmas for so many reasons: the joy, the presents, meeting and hugging relatives, the delicious food and Christmas sweets, and especially the presents that were specifically mentioned three times in his first thread :)

Oggi è giovedì 14 dicembre, un'altro week end è vicino e anche le vacanze di Natale si stanno avvicinando sempre di più.
L'atmosfera natalizia ha invaso piacevolmente paesi e città e ha anche influnezato i due ultimi temi del mini contest nato dalla collaborazione tra la comunità di Olio di Balena e InLeo.
Nel post di oggi scopriamo insieme il tema del nuovo mini-contest e anche i vincitori del mini contest terminato domenica scorsa.
Il mini contest Olio di Balena - Inleo ha come sempre un duplice obiettivo:
- creare un momento di interazione e condivisione tra gli utenti di Olio di Balena
- far conoscere un utile strumento creato da InLeo per le comunità di Hive: i Community Threads
Infatti la UI di Inleo è un front-end utilizzabile per interagire e pubblicare su tutte le comunità di Hive come ad esempio Peakd ed Ecency e permette anche di scrivere i Community threads.

Creare un Community Thread è un'operazione molto semplice e ti mostro i passi da seguire.

Passo 1: Login su InLeo
- Passo 1.1: Devi andare su https://inleo.io/ e poi devi cliccare su Log in

- LeoAuth: Devi inserire il tuo Hive username, la tua Posting Key e poi devi cliccare su Log in.

- Passo 3.2: Poi devi inserire il testo del tuo thread nel riquadro che contiene il tag #oliodibalena
- Passo 3.3: Poi devi cliccare su Thread in basso a destra.
Operazione completata! Facile vero? ;)
Adesso non devi fare altro che partecipare a questo bel mini contest ;)
Consiglio: Se il testo del tuo thread è superiore alla capienza massima di un singolo thread puoi anche scrivere un threadstorm.
In questo caso solo nel primo thread devi inserire due tag:

I Partecipanti e l'Annuncio dei Vincitori della sedicesima Edizione del Mini Contest (7 dicembre - 10 dicembre 2023)
Nel mini contest terminato il 26 novembre ci sono state 9 partecipazioni.
Nel mini contest terminato nel week-end scorso (10 dicembre 2023) ci sono state 7 partecipazioni.
Due partecipanti in più rispetto al mini contest precedente e 10 partecipanti in meno del mini contest terminato il 22 ottobre 2023 che con 17 partecipazioni mantiene il record di partecipazioni registrate in 16 edizioni del contest Odb-Inleo.

Purtroppo soldi per comprare l'albero (e manco regali) non ce ne stanno, ma comunque posto la foto del doppione che riceverei volentieri in condizioni ideali (questo mese c'è da pagare il dentista per tutti e due, un esame clinico di mio marito e al più tardi entro i primi mesi dell'anno uno mio che ho già rimandato a oltranza). Domenica però ci sarà uno scambio regali nella mia comunità causa evento denominato amico occulto. Porterò qualcosa dal mio mercatino porta a porta dell'usato (si può fare: l'anno scorso un'amica anziana aveva portato una delle sue tazze) e chi ha ricevuto il biglietto con il mio nominativo porterà qualcosa a sua volta.

Ps.: sapresti dirmi quando andrà a posto leodex? Sono settimane che risulta broken. Senza leodex, a partire dall'anno prossimo non potrò più swappare leo (così come nessuna frazione di token non previamente quantificabile in cifre esatte) a causa della nuova legge perchè la modalità limit su hive-engine o tribaldex non mi permette di quantificare se ho guadagnato o perso qualcosa (va calcolato in FIAT locale) e quanto il guadagno o quanto la perdita (è importante perchè andrà obbligatoriamente nella dichiarazione dei redditi e devo assolutamente premurarmi di swappare solo in perdita o cifra esatta perchè se no, se si guadagna, devo compilare una dichiarazione al mese e qui mi mangio una botta di tempo).
