Yeyemoolu is a well in the Ooni of Ife palace, if you visit the palace without seeing the beauty of yeyemoolu your visit is not yet complete. Yeyemoolu have the ability to display a lot of things like gold, silver, diamond but nobody can touch. If you are the greedy type you can't go there

Yeyemoolu have a connection with a well outside the palace and it's name Lalua and when I heard the story from my mom, I wish to see it for myself one day and when I did I was amazed and I always wondering how Yeyemoolu and Lalua connected but I've not yet get my answer but I think they are both connected because those who turned to water are barrens.

She was the wife of one of the past King and she was barren. The other Kings wife used to embarrass her because of her situation and she turn into water out of embarrassment. She turned to goddess of fertility and it is said that if any barren woman drink from that well water, she will definitely become a mother.

And for the other well outside of the palace, one of the housewife of a particular household in old Ife turn to that well because of her jealousy and anger issue. I was told that the woman is a barren and her husband married another wife but the wife was not please with it.

She always caused trouble here and there, fighting the other wife and even doesn't have peace with anybody in the neighborhood. She was know to be on her own all the time because she doesn't have a friend and her husband does not like that.

One day, when the husband came back from the farm, he met them fighting as usual and the husband knew that it was that same woman that always started the fight so the husband don't even bother to ask what transpired between them and blame his first wife, telling her that maybe God did not give her any children because of her bad attitude and behavior, her bad temperament caused her the lack of have the children of her own, her husband said all those hurtful words to her out of anger.

All those words pain the woman and she left the house in anger, and when she reach a particular place, she stomped her foot on the ground and she immediately turn to a pond. Since then she has been giving all the people living around that place a sleepless night that they have to vacate their houses.

When the idol worshipper saw this, they turned it into a well and started worshipping it and when ever they wanted to worship it, all the drink they will use are always from the well, they can drink whatever drink they want there but can not take a bottle home. The well is said to have sixteen room inside.

It was said that if anything or anybody fell into the well, the well only release those it want to and keep those it doesn't want to release captive and anybody the well want to release will be found inside the pond in the palace.

Everytime my mom want to go and visit her aunty in the palace, I always make sure to tag along and it's not because of anything but to see yeyemoolu.

Thanks for checking on my blog and have a wonderful day
