Rice Field Photography
Hi, I am from Indonesia. Most Indonesian people are farmers, though Jakarta and other big cities have turned into industrial cities. In some parts of Bekasi, which is in the east of Jakarta, there are some areas of rice fields. In Bekasi, there are thousands of acres of ricefields turned into housing and industrial parks. That sounds not good for green environmental development.
Here in my photos, I still find some rice field areas in Bekasi.
This is the landscape of the rice fields. I am not sure how large it is. In this rice field, the land is split into parts. There are some parts that are still green, yellow and harvested.
On the field, you can see some torn clothes that are tied on sticks. They are like flags. Those torn clothes are used to dismiss birds that eat the rice.
This is the shoot of rice. It looks green with hundreds of grains on it. The rice fields should be in swamp areas where the land is soaked with water.
The rice field water supply is supported by an integrated irrigation system. The water comes from rain water from higher landscapes than it flows into a made man small river . The river supplies water to all the rice field areas.
After about three or four months, the rice turns yellow. The grain is filled with flour. It becomes rice. The yellow grain is ready to be harvested.
This is the grain of rice. It looks so heavy. It becomes bent down. In Javanese culture, there is a philosophy of rice.
What does it mean? Young rice is still empty, so it looks upright. However, the old rice is getting fuller so that the rice stalks become bent.
A human nature and character, the higher his knowledge, wealth, and high position, the more humble and not arrogant he is. This is a trait that every human being should have. So don't be surprised when you hang out with Javanese people who understand Javanese culture. They will speak lowly even though they have a high position or broad knowledge.
These are the rice stalks that have been harvested. One grain can grow into a bunch of stalks.
Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoy my photos and my stories.

Wow this Indonesia farm is wide and Big, I've not seen rice grown in such quantity like this before and so massive. This are nice pictures and the rice are really healthy and grown on a fertile ground.
I wanted to ask, are you into agricultural and do you have farm lands that is as big as the once you took in pictures.
In indonesian, those farm lands are own by many people. The farm land is split into many parts. Most people own rice field from their ancestors.
And I don't have the farm land.
Oh now I understand, I thought it was a farm land owned by one person in the community not knowing it was shared between many. this seems to be the basic agricultural products made from Indonesia people.
Love the quote;
Nature always has it's own way to teach us human.
