WHAT ON EARTH WILL MAKE ME STAY AWAY FROM MY PHONE

I'm not going to lie about the fact that I'm a phone addict, but unlike many my addiction isn't tied to pleasure alone, it is majorly tied to a means of generating income. This is why a phone with me is as good as useless without data. I don't have a long list of people I call to check up on, movies can become boring for me in the long run, and mobile games will only give me a headache and make me feel useless (as though I don't have better things to do with my life) so at the end of the day, I'm left with something that would be beneficial to me in the long run which is work.

Today my phone went off for the first time since I got it because I had not had access to electricity at home since the previous night. I didn't go to the office today, and in the process of waiting for electricity (which is still yet to come), I ended up sleeping till about 1:00 p.m. I got up, and took a walk to a friend's house, as I was already feeling useless, I could only think of the things I wasn't doing with my phone. I never even knew what the time was saying, and I practically felt useless not having my phone functioning. I ended up going to a place I don't really appreciate (a local betting shop) just so I could charge up for two hours and see what I could achieve before the day ended.

Coming online to write on the hive learner's prompt for week 83 episode 2, I realized just how important my phone is to me. If I don't do what I'm supposed to do in a day with it (work) it's money lost which would end up putting more financial strain on me in the long run. There are days I don't feel like touching my phone or even going online, but I have to at least for the money's sake. And I know I am not the only one who does this. Looking at the current economic situation, doubling two to three jobs is very necessary.

WHAT ON EARTH WOULD MAKE ME STAY AWAY FROM MY PHONE

Give me a good-paying job, capable of paying for all my needs, and fulfilling my wants, and give me extra to spend and I might not even see the need for a smartphone. I mean what could I be looking for after that? I could go anywhere I wish to go when I am not working, spend time with family and friends without feeling I am missing out on something, and get to enjoy life without following up on my favorite shows on my mobile. What else could a guy ask for 😂.

Looking at how much technology has advanced, it's obvious that apart from making money, and fun our smartphones also Serve as educational tools, but then again too much screen time is something that we have always been advised against. I feel my eyes itchy these days, and I must admit I know it's because of too much screen time, but since the screen time pays my bills, what else can one expect if not more screen time. But having access to a good amount of money too will help me reduce my screen time 😂
