THE NEED FOR CONSISTENCY (NEWBIES GUIDE)

If you are a newbie reading this post, let me start by saying your journey wouldn't be as easy as you think, but your efforts are what make it easy. Now you've written your first post (introduction post), and probably got $10 - $20 or even more, congratulations and welcome to the hive Blockchain. Perhaps you weren't as lucky as those who got a reasonable amount of curations on their post, sorry welcome to the hive Blockchain. For any category you fall in, one thing is certain, it will not continue like it starts unless you make it to (either way). The hive Blockchain is not designed to just reward efforts as the greatest effort anyone can make is consistency.

It's through consistency you grow to become a better writer and probably earn what you've been hoping you would earn now that you're starting. You need to first understand that no one is just going to give you money (curation) because you posted something. The Blockchain wants to see efforts and even more, the Blockchain wants to see consistency. Your consistency in writing, engaging, and giving value. Now don't let all the plenty of English confuse you, see hive like you see your normal web 2 social media platforms (whichever you are familiar with). What are the things that make you interact with those platforms, is it music, fashion, news, etc.… I have had conversations with some I onboarded and one major issue I found out is they don't know what to write.

Find those communities on hive and engage with them as you engage with your Web 2 social media platforms. This would mean that when you post, you wouldn't need to struggle much because it's a niche you love in the first place. It will only be natural that since you love that niche you can easily relate with the people who talk about them and they too will engage with you making you go further into creating and building relationships with these people because you can easily relate with them. But like I said earlier, consistency is key. You don't do this and stop, no lies it gets tiring at a point, and sometimes discouraging, but that is the time you need to push even more.

I started with no knowledge of any of the advice I just gave, at first I wanted to make money, and I struggled a lot for money. It wasn't easy at all for me at that time, especially because I had a wack phone that could only work when there was electricity. I started searching out what others were doing that I wasn't doing right and corrected them. It started with my posting style, use of grammar, and use of editing tools. By the time I was done with that, I proceeded to learn how to get visibility and I was told to engage with others which I started doing. I would make a post in a day and engage for the rest of the day. I gave myself a target of at least 20 posts which would take me the whole day because of my phone.

It wasn't until two weeks of engaging with others that I finally understood how the hive learners community operated. So I was engaging with hive learners and there I learned a lot about hive, through a lot of people starting with mercy and merit ahama. Later on, I discovered through engagement about the city of neoxian and its discord server. The city of neoxian taught me a lot more and gave me the opportunity to meet a whole lot of people that have helped me in my journey. Now how I wish I got tired and stopped at a point, how would I be where I am today? Last week I purchased a new PC and paid debts of over 100 thousand naira which was only possible because I built my account to that point. Hive isn't a get-rich-quick scheme, and like karma, it always rewards.
