SOME HOSPITAL EXPERIENCES

(Edited)

Hospitals aren't places I'm fond of visiting; I mean who would take pleasure in visiting a hospital if you are not working there lol. That aside, I have had a few experiences visiting a hospital, I'm glad I have no reason to visit often, but I will be sharing some of my experience with hospital visits in this post intending to highlight how I was treated which is in response to the hive learner's prompt for week 83 episode 3. So without further ado, let me jump right into it.

A few years ago, in 2016 if I can remember very correctly, I had previously had an alignment that had me taking medications every three months. I had been living with it for years, and I grew tired of taking those medications. The school created the opportunity to skip my meds without fear of being caught or questioned. So it happened that the first three months came, and I skipped it, the second three months came and I did the Same even after collecting money for the medications. I was getting a hang of it until a month after the second three months.

It started as normal malaria fever, and I still ignored it until it became so worse that it was impossible to get up, I wasn't even feeling my body any longer. I stayed at the school's hostel then, and when my roommates saw how I was they had to call my parents who instructed them to take me to the hospital ASAP. My school and my home were a state apart, and a three-hour drive. So my mum boarded the next available bus to my school.

I was rushed to a private hospital, and my mum was quite surprised to walk in only to find her child lying on the reception floor with the nurses acting as though they didn't care. My roommates were trying all through to get a doctor's attention for about five hours. I didn't pay attention to what they were discussing with the nurses as I was busy battling with my life hoping and praying the pains stopped, but it was something about money. My mum came in to see the attitude of the nurses, she had to get a taxi and I was taken to another hospital where I was properly attended to.

I was lucky to be alive having needed urgent medical attention, but got nothing because of some attitudes from so-called nurses. Although I have seen that not all hospitals are like that and not all medical professionals are like that as well as I remember when my sister had her surgery, the nurses in that hospital were really nice, and she felt loved throughout her stay in the hospital and they were always checking up on her. I also noticed she wasn't the only patient they did that for, which meant it was how the hospital operated.

The accident I had last year left me in the hands of the doctors again, but then I noticed the doctor and nurses that attended to me in the beginning were nice, but the ones there was this particular nurse who was always money-hungry and nonchalant about her job. If not for the doctor's intervention on three occasions, she would have ruined my leg by giving me the wrong treatments. There was another nurse who was filling in for the nurse assigned to me one faithful day who acted as though she derived pleasure in watching me in pain. She would look for every possible means to irritate the injury I had in the name of dressing it up until the doctor intervened. I avoided both nurses until I left the hospital seeing they planned to ruin my legs. And that is it for my hospital experience.

Hmmm it's only God that's saving us from some nonchalant medical personnel that doesn't care about saving the life of their patients.

Not so, there are times were I have to write the post before the time the link is officially posted on hive. Only after that I edit and add link.

Although I'm guilty of forgetting on some occasions, I am sorry about that

Some medical personnel seems not to know the gravity of what they are doing with their nonchalant attitude towards their patients they are supposed to care for.

I pray God helps us all.

Some nurses and doctors are like lieutenant of the devil because their nonchalant attitude towards a patient during times of emergency is extremely cruel.

I'm glad you were able to recover and leave the hospital with your legs intact.
