SCIENCE THE LIFEBLOOD AND DEATH OF THE 22ND CENTURY

Science is evolving as we know it, but if we should be sincere with ourselves, the knowledge of science and technology has corrupted not just our generation, but also the coming generation. Now children have access to a lot of content online that would definitely cause an advert effect on them as they grow up. I started using a mobile phone at age 10, and then it was just games, but as I grew older into my teenage age, I started making use of Google for almost everything which first exposed me to explicit materials online. From there on I started feeding my curiosity especially when my mum who would usually try to see my online activities wasn't looking.

My mum never knew that parental control could be activated on devices, and it became a leverage for me to explore. Although I'm way past that now, I still feel the effects of that exposure to date. This now brings me to the realization that just like me, a lot of children are being exposed to a lot of unhealthy things online, and the adults meant to look after these kids are too busy doing other things and do not realize the danger their kids have been exposed to. These unhealthy exposures can do a whole lot of damage to a person's psychology, and seeing how exposed these kids are, I pity the kind of adults they will turn out to be.

Today we say technology has taken over everything, we now live online which has become a safe space for many. However, that safe space isn't all safe right now because you can't go five minutes without bumping into nudity, uncensored videos or strong language online. Technology has been a tremendous help to a lot of industries, but I think it's gone too far in the aspect of marketing and advertising. Today you can't do anything without an ad popping up on your phone, and you can hardly see an ad without nudity in it… businesses have portrayed things like this as normal in a bid to sell their products which will make the next generation feel it's okay to go nude, dress immorally and be indecent in the name of fashion…

Now children are already deciding if they want to be alpha males or feminists and choosing other genders because they have been exposed to things that their minds can't comprehend. A Child can rain full of insults, trolls and banter and nobody will ever notice because technology has made it possible. Sincerely I fear for this coming generation and ask myself at times, “How did we get here” I wish these inventors of technology could focus on ways to distract kids with healthy kinds of stuff that would drag their attention instead of just thinking about promoting products without caring about it's advert effect. I wish technological innovations could stop children from accessing mature and unethical content without parental control because a lot of parents do not even know about it… I don't know what can fully be done, but if something isn't done fast I can only be sorry for the next generation.
