ONE THING I HAVE DONE ALREADY

Today is Christmas Day, and I didn't get to do some of the things I listed here because of other priorities. So I woke up this morning, took my bath dressed up, and went to church for Christmas service. Okay, the truth is this, I actually dragged myself to church with a broken body from carrying 11 bags of rice yesterday. After the Christmas service, I was returning home when I saw the masquerade carnival going on… it was pretty scary at first, but I just had to summon courage so the masquerades didn't see my fear. Don't blame me for being afraid, if you had walked into your area to see masquerades parading everywhere the way they did, you would first think about running back to where you were coming from.

I saw they were intimidating people and I was secretly praying they wouldn't come my way. The site was scary because there were so many, and it wasn't like how we see in movies and pictures 😂… some of the masquerades were looking more like deities than masquerades 😂 you wouldn't even find any child around. I think it was because the masquerades were hungry looking and trying to get tips from people. Some had canes with them and I didn't have any money to give anybody. I didn't want to bring out my phone to take pictures because I did not see anyone doing so, and knowing the community where I live, breaking a rule as a non-indigene comes with grave consequences. I had to become very serious and was walking so fast as I noticed a lot of people were doing it too. I also ensured I wasn't walking alone because I noticed the masquerades only came to individuals.

Although I didn't spend time there because my muscles were clamoring for rest, I went home after observing for like 15 minutes. Getting home I saw my neighbors gathered together, they were having a small get-together and had been looking for me all morning. I thought to myself, instead of going to grab a bite at a restaurant, this would save me a lot of cost. They had prepared rice and catfish pepper soup, alongside rice and chicken. It was the second meal at the time I came and I think they were pretty full. So I ate mine, and ate theirs too😂. There was a lot to drink, but I went for just yogurt as I don't drink alcohol.

After pounding on the food, I just went inside my house and slept till about past 5: pm. The carnival started today, and even right now it's still on. So after I finished making this post I would be heading out (without my phone) to continue from where I stopped in the morning. Tomorrow will be the wrestling tournament so I will go check if it would be safe to carry my phone and take pictures, if it wouldn't, you all would have to just have to read about it without pictures again 😂. That's all for my holidays so far, let me see other fun activities I can come up with.
