BAD NEWS

Sometimes I can't help but wonder if those in the affairs of government in Nigeria have even a bit of the nation at heart because I do not understand why a government would want to get rid of crypto instead of utilizing its potential to strengthen its own currency. But nooo, my government would rather like to live in an old-fashioned way in the country and travel abroad to live in a more digitalized age. The actions of my government are born out of pure wickedness and greed from those in power who by the way are age mates with our heroes past (if you know, you know). The Nigerian government does not just want to control everything, they wish to look for more. They want to look for more ways to easily seal money for themselves and having a decentralized system that can make money for the masses is bad news for the government.

Recently it was recorded that the Nigerian government had planned to stop all crypto trades in the country, and just last week, they initiated their plans to do what many thought impossible by removing the NGN from binance, and coinbase. They went further to sue Binance for $10 billion. When I saw the news I was disappointed and ashamed of how our government continues to play honky ponky with its citizens and we the citizens still find ways to survive their dirty little tricks. I guess that's what makes us bold, especially in other places because I mean growing up in Nigeria is enough hardship as it is, so living here to a far more comfortable life makes it easier to adjust.

Sadly, the Nigerian government sees crypto as a threat instead of the opportunities it can provide. Their views on crypto make it difficult to trade crypto in Nigeria, but yet Nigerians always find a way to beat all their tricks to stop us. It pains me more that it is some greedy old fools that are making some young hungry fools do their bidding. Yes, some of the people working to end crypto in Nigeria are as young as we are but because of empty promises, they sell us out by working for a government that has never had good intentions for its citizens in a long time.

Seeing the bad news of my government's acts on crypto on a daily basis makes me wonder how those who hear this news outside Nigeria see Nigeria. If I should be blunt here, this is treason, but the question is who would punish them, or rise against them. A lot have tried and failed in bringing the government to justice but I know one thing is for sure, you can run, but can never run forever. The bill that was past to end crypto trades in Nigeria has even caused the death and persecution of a lot of young Nigerians in the hands of some untrained police officers. I can't count how many of my friends who were genuinely crypto trades were arrested on the basis of Internet fraud. I wouldn't want to go into some painful details here, but I really wish all these would end soon enough.

This is really sad. I'd like to believe this is happening because of the rise of internet fraud in the country. Maybe the citizens can protest because a country without crypto is really not looking to grow, from my point of view.

easily seal money

You mean steal right.

It sounds horrible for whats happening with crypto in your country. how are you guys withdrawing money to fiat? You would have to do it with a person face to face right or someone trusted. seems kinda scary. hopefully it gets better :(

There are some crypto companies that are still trading NGN. We just hope the government don't find them out soon

It's really a disheartening, the leaders don't have the citizens at heart. All they care about is their well being. Even with the ban of crypto things are getting worst on daily basis. I just wonder how those who saw survival through crypto would cope.

You first paragraph reminded me how our government advocate advancement of technology but yet, they don't make use of it.
Imagine up till now, they called us to come and submit our documents instead of creating a folder on a cloud and ask us to upload our documents. I have be called several times to submit the same documents.
They should find solution about devaluation of naira rather than banning crypto.
If we youth don't get any work to do, we will carry gun
