Mysterious eyes that watch us from the wall, always attentive. They observe everything that happens around them, always attentive to the constant comings and goings of the people in the street. What secrets do they keep, how many emotions, joys and sorrows have they witnessed in this piece of the city?...

Greetings to the whole community! 👋, with this graffiti I present my participation in the CCC' Street Art Contest #158 The photograph of this mural was taken in the month of March of this year (2023). It is located in the Vedado neighborhood of Havana, Cuba, and is a creation of the talented multidisciplinary artist Enrique Mastrana, known as ABSTRK. This artist has been involved in various artistic projects throughout his career. He is of Cuban descent and lives in Miami. On a previous visit to the island, he obtained permission from the authorities to leave his mark on the city through his street art. The mural I present here is the first I have seen by this artist, it is near the place where my in-laws live, and although it has been done for some time, I had not noticed it until recently (my fault! 😕).

I love the combination of pink and mauve colours of these enigmatic eyes, which convey a sense of calm and serenity. Although in my opinion, they have a slightly intimidating look. Now, every time I pass by this place I can't help but stop before this look.

I would very much like to find more works by this artist, and to be able to share them, as he painted several more during his stay in Cuba. So I will keep my eyes open from now on when I walk the streets of Havana.

“Solo tengo ojos para ti”

Ojos misterios que nos miran desde la pared, siempre atentos. Observan todo lo que ocurre a su alrededor, siempre atentos al constante ir y venir de las gentes en la calle. ¿Qué secretos guardarán, de cuantas emociones, alegrías y tristezas habrán sido testigos, en este pedazo de la ciudad?...

¡Saludos a toda la comunidad! 👋, con este grafiti presento mi participación en el CCC' Street Art Contest #158 La fotografía de este mural fue tomada en el mes de Marzo de este año (2023). Se encuentra en el barrio del Vedado, en la Habana, Cuba, y es una creación del talentoso artista multidisciplinario Enrique Mastrana, conocido como ABSTRK. Este artista ha incursionado en diversos proyectos artísticos a lo largo de su carrera. Es de ascendencia cubana y radica en Miami. En una visita anterior a la isla, obtuvo el permiso de las autoridades para dejar su huella en la ciudad a través de su arte callejero. El mural que presento, es el primero que he visto de este artista, está cerca del lugar donde viven mis suegros, y aunque lleva algún tiempo de realizado, yo no me había percatado de su existía hasta hace poco tiempo (¡mi culpa! 😕).

De estos enigmáticos ojos me encanta la combinación de colores rosados y malvas que transmiten una sensación de calma y serenidad. Aunque tienen una mirada un poquito intimidante a mi parecer. Ahora, cada vez que pasó por este lugar no puedo dejar de detenerme ante esta mirada.

Me gustaría mucho encontrar más obras de este artista, y poder compartirlas, ya que durante su estancia en Cuba pintó varias más. Así que estaré atenta a partir de este momento cuando camine por las calles de La Habana.
