Hello to all #Hive friends!.... Today my street photography series "Exposed Gaze" is also my entry in the weekly black and white photography contest launched by our guys from the @photofeed team... So here we go with my photos for you all!

¡Hola a todos amigos en #Hive!... Hoy mi serie de fotografías callejeras "Mirada Expuesta" es también mi participación en el concurso de fotografía en blanco y negro semanalmente lanzado por nuestros chicos del equipo @photofeed... ¡Así que aquí vamos con mis fotos para todos ustedes!

This is a photo taken at a certain distance (about 50 mts, I estimate) in a humble neighbourhood in my town (Montalbán, Carabobo, Venezuela) and my intention was to take it without being noticed by the two boys who were looking at a mobile phone sitting on the side of the street. But surprisingly one of them noticed my presence while I was shooting, so it seemed to me that the photo would be even better with that gesture of the boy, and so it was...

Esta es una foto disparada a cierta distancia (unos 50 mts, estimo) en un vecindario humilde de mi pueblo (Montalbán, Carabobo, Venezuela) y mi intención era hacerla si ser advertido por los dos chicos que miraban un teléfono móvil sentados en el margen de la calle. Pero de forma sorpresiva uno de ellos se percató de mi presencia mientras yo disparaba, entonces me pareció que la foto sería aún mejor con ese gesto del chico y así fue...

This is a small town full of names, events and occurrences... You might think that there are few things to photograph... But not so, instead the streets of the town seem to give birth to photos and more photos non-stop. I have been doing this frequently for almost a couple of decades now. I go out on the street with my camera, walk for a couple of hours and at the same time I'm taking pictures. I think that more than 80% of my photographic work is on the streets and also 80% of these photos I end up processing in black and white...

Este es un pueblo pequeño y repleto de nombres, eventos y sucesos... Podría pensarse que hay pocas cosas para fotografiar... Pero no es así, en su lugar las calles del pueblo parecen dar a luz fotos y más fotos sin parar. Llevo casi un par de décadas haciendo esto con frecuencia. Salgo a la calle con mi cámara, camino un par de horas y al mismo tiempo voy haciendo fotos. Creo que más del 80% de mi trabajo fotográfico es en las calles y también un 80% de estas fotos las termino procesando en blanco y negro...

The famous "Garrocha"/_{El famoso "Garrocha"}

Here in this town things happen at a pace all of their own... Things as basics as an unknown person, make the neighbours come out to the street to watch him, someone may sweep the dust from their yard and curse loudly and you may meet an old high school classmate whose name you have forgotten but everyone in town calls him "garrocha" and that is more than enough to identify him...

Aquí en este pueblo las cosas suceden a un ritmo propio... Cosas tan simples como una persona desconocida hacen que los vecinos salgan a la calle a observarle, alguien puede barrer el polvo de su patio lanzando maldiciones a voz en cuello y puedes encontrarte con un antiguo compañero de secundaria cuyo nombre haz olvidado pero todos en el pueblo le llaman "garrocha" y eso es más que suficiente para identificarlo...

I, for my part, have also become part of the "town imaginary" and over the years I have become "The crazy guy with the camera in hand" for many people here. Although, as a matter of respect, the kids usually call me "Mr. Crazy guy with the camera in hand".... Hahaha :))

Yo por mi parte, también he pasado a formar parte del "imaginario del pueblo" y con el paso de los años me he convertido en "El tipo loco con la cámara en la mano" para muchos aquí. Aunque, por cuestiones de respeto, los niños suelen decirme "El señor loco con la cámara en la mano"... Hahaha :))

_{ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.}

_{NOTA TÉCNICA ADICIONAL: Fotografias capturadas con mi cámara DSLR Nikon D7000 en formato RAW, procesadas posteriormente en Adobe Camera RAW para ajustes relativos a luz, afilado, contraste y profundidad... Luego fueron exportadas a formato JGP sobre el cual se llevaron a cabo modificaciones menores como enderezado y agregado de marcas de agua usando PhotoScape 3.6.3.}
