Tasting The Delicious of Matang Satay

How are you today ? I hope and pray, we are all always given health and also happiness in living this life. I am very happy, finally given the time and opportunity to be able to participate again in the Foodies Be Hive Community and share my culinary experiences with all my friends in this community.

For information to all member, I live in Medan City – Indonesia. Medan City is one of the largest city in Indonesia and Medan City is also the most populous city on Sumatra Island. Of course you know, it's no secret that big cities will always be a magnet for people from other areas to come and find their fortune in big cities. Because of that, in Medan City we will find many people from different ethnic backgrounds to work here.

The arrival of people to one area certainly also has an impact on the area visited. Like when Indians, Arabs and Chinese came to Indonesia in the past and provided new culinary riches and enriched the variety of food in Indonesia. Likewise nowadays, we can find a variety of delicious food from other regions or cities in Medan City brought by migrants from outside this city.

One of my favorite foods for dinner is Satay Matang. Matang Satay is one of Aceh's traditional culinary delights which is also popular in Medan City. I have a cooked satay outlet which is located not far from my house. The unique part, this restaurant does not have a plank or a name.

This satay outlet is located on Rajawali Street no. 1 Medan Sunggal District – Medan City. The location is on the side of the road and of course there is no parking area. However, this satay outlet has a very lucky location, because in front of it is a fuel station which has a large area. Almost all visitors who use a car will park their car in the parking lot of this gas station.

Even though the outlet has a small building and limited parking space. Visitors from this satay restaurant are very crowd. My wife and I turn up at seven in the evening for dinner and we had a hard time finding an empty table. After waiting for a few minutes, finally one family group finish eat and we were finally able to get an empty table. The ordering system at this satay outlet is also very simple. After we get a seat, we will order satay according to our portion, we order two portions for our dinner.



How About Taste
After ordering our food, we didn't have to wait long for our order. About 10 minutes, the cooked satay will be served to our table. One thing that is interesting about every satay stall in Indonesia is the cooking process which is still traditional and of course made by order to keep the meat hot when served.

Matang Satay is grilled grilled over hot coals. This cooking process always creates a smokey taste in the meat and also makes the meat very tasty and juicy. One more thing, when you come to the Matang Satay outlet, you have to be prepare to be surprise because the employee in charge of grilling the satay will often slam the soy sauce bottles as hard as they can.

In Indonesia, there are many variations of satay such as Padang Satay, Madura Satay etc. One thing that distinguishes Matang Satay Aceh from other sate in Indonesia is the condiment of this dish. In general, satay in Indonesia will be served with rice cake doused with peanut sauce or a typical Padang sauce.

Matang Satay is always served with a portion of rice, thick broth and a separate peanut sauce. I myself can not wait to eat this dish. I can say, Matang Satay is one of my favorite foods to eat at night.

Usually, I'll mix up my rice and soup first. After that, I'll take the satay and mix it into the peanut sauce that's been mixed with the chilies. The smokey taste of the satay beef blends perfectly with the peanut sauce. When we eat it once, we will not stop to eat.

The portion of rice from this satay outlet is also more than other restaurants. Because of that, when you eat here besides you will like it because of the delicious Matang Satay. We will also be satisfied because we get a complete and filling portion. That's all the story about my culinary night this time, see you next time.

I'm searching for Matang Satay that really similar with the real one from Matang Satay in the Lhokseumawe City. Seems this one is looks similar.

Did we ever visit this place together? I'm not remembered. But I remember the Rajawali Street
Maybe I should go to this place 😀

Is it like a barbecue? The way you stated the dish I can say Matang Satay is delicious. I also want to try rice cake and peanut sauce. I think they are all perfect for a meal.

Whoa that's just show how good their food our, the table was always occupied. Grilled food is always the best, that id also maybe the reason why people love it.
