Hello, friends.

All bridges in Kaliningrad have their own name - Vysoky, Derevyany, Yubileiny, Estakadny... today we will talk about the Honey Bridge. The Honey Bridge connects Kant Island and the Fishing Village. There are several versions of the origin of the name Honey Bridge. According to one legend, the bridge was named so because Besenrode, a member of the Kneiphof town hall, paid for the construction of the bridge with barrels of honey.

Currently, the Honey Bridge is pedestrian; only vehicles serving the cathedral on Kant Island are allowed to cross it.

On the railing of the bridge sits Grandfather Karl Homlin, a miniature bronze sculpture that, according to legend, brings happiness.

During the cold season, local residents often put some warm clothes on Grandfather Karl so that he does not freeze.

Эх.... хотел в начале августа в Калининград слетать, но "что-то пошло не так" и пришлось забыть об этом. Видимо, не судьба мне побывать в этом анклаве.

Despite having an old relationship with Russia, I have never travelled there. But now I wish that day would come sooner! :)

Russia is big and very different: Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg, Moscow are not much different from European cities, but in Russia there is also Siberia, where you can find very interesting and mysterious places))
