Knives make a great movie about a murder

Being a lover of the stories of Edgar Allan Poe and Agatha Christie, I did not think that in our times I could enjoy a film that followed the formula of the detective novel, so when the film Knives Out came to light in 2019 for It was a pleasant surprise, because this film has the elements that I like, a death whose apparent explanation is not convincing and therefore it is about following an investigation that reveals possible hypotheses and suspects but that turn into quite interesting twists, where the viewer becomes involved in thinking about how the events linked to death really occurred.

Siendo yo una amante de las historias de Edgar Allan Poe y de Agatha Christie, no pensé que en nuestros tiempos pudiera disfrutar de una película que siguiera la fórmula de la novela policíaca, así que cuando en 2019 salió a la luz la película Knives Out para mi fue una agradable sorpresa, pues esta película tiene los elementos que me gustan, una muerte cuya explicación aparente no es convincente y por lo tanto se trata de seguir una investigación que va revelando posibles hipótesis y sospechosos pero que se tornan en giros bastante interesantes, donde el espectador se involucra en el pensamiento de cómo realmente ocurrieron los hechos vinculados a la muerte.

This film is about an older man who was a writer of mystery novels who is found with his throat cut in his house the day after his birthday party. As always in these types of stories, a private detective appears, in this case called Blanc, who was hired anonymously to investigate the death, whose cause according to the police is suicide, however there are many elements that cast doubt on this motive, the family of the deceased was in that house because the birthday was celebrated, that is , that there were a considerable number of suspects and the investigation revealed some problems within the family.

Esta película trata de un hombre mayor que era escritor de novelas de misterios que es encontrado con el cuello cortado en su casa al día siguiente de celebrarse su fiesta de cumpleaños, como siempre en este tipo de historias aparece un detective privado, en este caso llamado Blanc el cual contratado de forma anónima para investigar la muerte, cuya causa según la policía es un suicidio, no obstante hay muchos elementos que ponen en duda tan motivo, en esa casa se encontraban la familia del difunto por haberse celebrado el cumpleaños, es decir, que había una cantidad considerable de sospechosos y la investigación hizo que se rebelaran algunos problemas en el seno de la familia.

Obviously the deceased had a lot of money, so the possible heirs could have financial reasons to plan a murder, however everything takes an unexpected turn in the reading of the will, since the man leaves all his assets to his personal nurse named Marta, The relatives are confused with that decision, however, the investigation continues providing more and more details that do not agree with the original version of the events, everyone is under suspicion but there comes a point where it is not known if the man died of poisoning and then her neck is cut, the witness who saw someone coming down the stairs that day suffers an attack, the nurse begins to receive threats of anonymous extortion, the film keeps you alert and expectant.

Obviamente el difunto tenía mucho dinero, por lo que los posibles herederos podrían tener motivos económicos para planear un asesinato, no obstante todo da un giro inesperado en la lectura del testamento, pues el señor le deja todos sus bienes a su enfermera personal llamada Marta, los familiares están confundidos con esa decisión, sin embargo, la investigación continua otorgando cada vez más detalles que no concuerdan con la versión original de los hechos, todos están bajo sospecha pero llega un punto en que no se sabe si el señor murió envenenado y luego cortado su cuello, la testigo que vio bajar a alguien ese día por la escalera sufre un atentado, la enfermera empieza a recibir amenazas de extorción anónima, la película te mantiene alerta y expectante.

Of course, in the final, as is usual in this genre of story, an explanation of the events is given in meticulous detail, but I would not like to ruin the excitement for you of seeing this film if you have not done so, because I believe that there are few films today that take risks with a classic genre and also have the necessary dose of drama, suspense and even comedy, for me it is one of the best 😊

Por supuesto que la final como es lo habitual en este género de historia se da una explicación de los hechos con minucioso detalle, pero no me gustaría arruinarles la emoción a ustedes de ver esta película si no lo han hecho, pues creo que son pocas las películas en la actualidad que se arriesgan con un género clásico y que además tengan la dosis necesaria de drama, suspenso y hasta comedia , para mi es una de las mejores 😊
