Long Braids
“Young lady what is this?" my dad glared at me immediately after I entered the house.
"Daddy I don't understand," I said looking dumbfounded as I had a long day at the salon, my head was aching from the hair I made.
"This!" he marched towards me and picked up some strands of my long braids.
"My new hairdo Daddy", I replied, wondering why he was making a fuss about my hair.
"How old are you long lady?" he glared at me again.
"Daddy, did I do something wrong?' I replied, fear laced in my voice.
"Yes you did everything wrong by making such long braids" he raised his voice and I winced at every word that he uttered.
"But Daddy it's not that long," I said while glancing at the length of the braids and noticing that it was indeed longer than I thought. I lowered my head and headed for the easiest way out.
"I am sorry Daddy, I will never make such hair again and I will loose the hair very soon," I said with my eyes pleading for him to drop the whole FBI investigation charade.
"It's alright, I hope you are not having a splitting headache as those long braids looks tight but regardless they are beautiful.
"I will be fine if I take some pain relief and thanks for complimenting my hair" I smiled and walked straight to my bedroom.

Parents can be annoying most times but we love them regardless
