Choosing what matters most #235
I received invitations to three special occasions , my cousin’s wedding, a huge family reunion, and my best friend's wedding anniversary, all on the same day,
I would definitely think about it as all occasions are special and important but after having a deep thought, my heart would go straight to attending my cousin’s wedding.
When I first thought about it, it actually felt a little strange to imagine a huge family reunion being fixed on the same day as a cousin’s wedding.
In real life, families usually avoid such clashes because they understand how important both events are, besides the wedding can also be another little reunion for the family as relatives may also plan to attend.
However, assuming that for some reason all three occasions truly fall on the same day, my choice would still be clear, I would attend my cousin’s wedding.
The truth is, a cousin’s wedding is something that happens once in a lifetime. It is a very special moment that can never be repeated. Weddings are a celebration of love, growth, and new beginnings, and being there for someone on one of the biggest days of their life feels deeply important to me.
I believe there are moments in life when physical presence speaks louder than words, and a wedding is one of those moments.
I know that family reunions are special too, and I would love to see distant relatives and reconnect with everyone. But family reunions happen again. Even if I miss this one, there is always the hope and plan for another gathering in the future.
As for my best friend's wedding anniversary, it is also a beautiful occasion to celebrate love and commitment.
However, anniversaries comes every year, and I could easily plan to attend or even organize something special for the next one.
But a wedding, especially a cousin’s wedding, is a once in a lifetime event. Missing it would mean missing the chance to witness a major chapter in their life. It would mean not being part of the memory they will forever carry.
Family means a lot to me, and being present on such a day shows love, support, and respect for the journey they are beginning.
In the end, life is about knowing where your heart is needed most. And for me, it would be at my cousin’s wedding celebrating love, family, and a once in a lifetime memory.

Yeah, thank you 😊
Indeed, a cousin's wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event. It's funny you would say, but we had four family events last Saturday, and all in distant, separate locations, so we chose to take the route to our cousin's wedding :)
