Choosing A Niche On The Hive Blockchain

Introduction...

I remembered when I first joined Hive, I had plans of just writing fictional stories, some prompts in a few communities and so on but then it all changed when I started getting into the v-blog aspect of Hive, I saw a whole new world, hehe. Back then I remember writing almost every day and now I wonder where all of those ideas came from. One of the major things that kept me going then was the fact that a lot of persons engaged with my post and that made me want to do even better.

A glimpse of why I'm choosing a niche

In all my time of sharing blogs on hive, I've come to realize that I get more engagement on my music blogs and if you know me well I do love having comments on my blog because it's always fun giving a reply and it also shows that someone likes what I do. I do get comments on my other blogs too but then my video blogs wins that most times. I don't like to be picky about what I can and can't do but then if for any reason I was given the option of choosing just one niche in the Hive community to focus on, it has to be on creating video contents, not just any one but music videos.

I love singing a lot and sometimes I just wish to be sharing just music content with my followers but then I do love to spice things up a bit and also keep learning and that's why I love diversity, hehe. Due to my busy life in the past few months I've been unable to share as much contents as I would have loved to but then I do share music content once in a while because it feels a lot easier to do so but then my environment is not always so conducive for always creating video contents and that is one of my major setbacks.

It's almost not possible to choose a niche, why?

As for writing a content, it does require work too but not outside my power but then the ideas are hard to come by. There are days when I'm set out to create a video content but in the end I don't because of something which most times I don't even know what it was (village people dey follow me upandan 😂). While there are other days when I decide to just come on Hive and read from other writers and the ideas just come and I take less than 30 minutes to come up with something nice.

I do love engaging in contest and challenges as they help me think faster and better and that makes me appreciate a lot of communities here on hive because they've helped me to get better at what I do. The truth is, I prefer reading more from others than writing, I enjoy leaving a comment and getting a response back and keep the conversation going, that is more fun than writing at least for me but then I understand that it is also good to create a content that makes people engage too and I think making a music video content is the niche I will go for because it is easier for me to get ideas and also engagement.

Writing isn't an easy thing but creating a video is not much of a hassle to do. But there are some who will tell you they'd prefer writing than video content. We all have our different preferences and what works best and faster for us. To me, I find writing easier for me than having to make a video, edit, write something about it again. Arrrrggghhhh. So much work to do but we have to do it 😀
