Another exciting week to share my experiences shopping from thrift stores as they offer unique items that cannot be found as brand new in modern shops. The prompt for this week afford us the opportunity to share our thoughts so far. But to be clear even though thrift wears and bend down select are used to refer to buying of second hand clothes, the difference is based on the settings, thrift store is down in a formal setting while bend down select or okrika is carried out in an open space.

Do you like to Thrift shop? Shopping for used clothes and useful household items are a practical, economical, and earth friendly way to outfit yourself and home.

What is regarded as thrift wears in my country Nigeria is above what is practically meant in this prompt questions by the #ladiesofhive community prompt, what I mean is that in Nigeria we have different grades of clothes that are affordable to all and sundry. why I believe the thrift wear is a grade of use clothed that seem brand new but they are more costly than what we refer to us "bend down select" or "okrika". When we go to the market there is a section of the market where bails of clothes are being opened and poured out in hips on tables or on the ground where people gather around such places to pick whatever they like, bargain for it and pay for it.

On social media, we see several vendors advertising thriftwears in different shapes and forms. one beneficial attributes of thriftwears is the fact that they are more economical than brand new clothes designer wears, vintage wears and all of that, these store literally have every kind of clothing you are looking for in bulk. One time I remember in school when we were to dress in a particular way and style which is the old school day, all the costumes we used for that day were gotten from a thrift store they practically had the vintage shirts the baggage was that those belts that are four fathers used to use the cow boy hats, the boots, the skirts and all. But apparently all you find in a modern boutique are trendy wears that are in vogue. So sometimes when you're looking for a particular kind of fashion that is out of trends your next bus stop to find it is by going to a thrift store.

One other reason I prefer to buy thrift handbags most especially is because they are long-lasting and durable. You find out that most of the bags that are sold in thrift stores are unique and durable. Just last week here we are going to my mom's wardrobe and we find some bag that she had bought for like 10 years ago and the leather is still strong and perfect with nothing wrong, no peeling, no scratch, just the way it is but unlike buying of designer handbags where we spend tons of monies, they do not last long after some months or even a year, you start to notice abnormalities in them.

Thrift wears have come in handy in most times when we want to wear good clothes but money was an issue, it gives people confidence in the fact that they can get anything they want from thrift and still look good on a budget. Most times, these wears are as good as new and no one would even notice. These days one can get virtually everything from thrift ranging from cooking wares, electronics, bags, clothes, even hairs.

In conclusion, bags are my favorite when it comes to thrift buying, they are cheap and can own different types and colours within a budget.
