One final stop before heading home // #monomad challenge

Since once in a while it's a good thing to get out of your comfort zone and try something new, and while I was scrolling down through the pictures taken with my phone but never posted them anywhere, I thought it was a pretty good opportunity for me to make my very first post in a new community that I was subscribed to for already a while and did upvote some of the posts regularly.

Honestly, I always thought that Black & White photography is amongst the most expressive type of art since it has the power to show off some new perspectives that you won't notice on the same images but the colored version.

And while street and night photography do a pretty good job when it comes to B&W filters, I'm going to attach a collection of pictures taken before going home, that felt like a reward since I was always passionate about cars but never got to see a collection like this one before.

I was actually on an evening walk along with my boyfriend attending a different kind of festival held in town at that time. We did cross the same parking place during the day too because it's part of our route whenever we make our way to the old town of Sibiu, but the cars weren't there at that time.

However, when the time to head home came by, we started walking on the exactly same route but ran into a beautiful collection of old cars that made us postpone a bit the moment when we will arrive home due to the nostalgia that hit hard while starring at the wonderful gems on four wheels.

Some of these were quite rusty while some looked really nice but that's a good sign to show how dedicated the owner of the vehicle is to maintain it further and make it to future rallies too, because some of the cars had a tiny sticker on them mentioning about a rally. So having them in Sibiu (Romania) was definitely not random.

While Sibiu is home to more festivals and collections of cars of all kinds, starting with the historical and old ones to some of the most expensive ones out there, sadly, it seems like this rally was never part of those held in town but only had the opportunity to share an accommodation place for the drivers who stopped by to have a night at the hotel before heading to their next stop during the tour, or maybe home.

There is no doubt each car had its own magic but the ones that captured my attention the most were those from Triumph or the Trabant cars that were quite popular in Romania and I did see some of them during my childhood.

But even though I didn't get to see plenty of these cars in real life but rather in movies and old pictures with my family, it did feel nice to stay so close to different parts of history and admire their details that have a specific charm in comparison with the modern cars.

So, with these being said, I'm really happy that I ran into this collection of pictures and managed to finally set up a post with this purpose because I'm sure some of you will really love seeing them. But another important reason for writing down this post is to finally make my first steps posting in a community that I admire a lot, which also hosts contests with the B&W theme.

Therefore, this is my entry for the #monomad challenge. And you can read more about it here.

Those cars look super good!! It’s great that you found the photos sleeping there in your phone, now they are awake here in the Black and White community! Hehe. I agree with you, black and white pictures show some aspects of a picture that colorful images ignore. The scene seems to be from another century!! Amazing!

Absolutely! I did feel like being part of a different age for some minutes lol, and I'm really happy I found them and finally made my post in the b&w community. I think I'll return here someday with some more pictures but in better quality 😁

Thank you for your kind words! I hope you have a lovely weekend! ❤️
