One Misconception People Have About Me ||| Ladies Of Hive Contest #157

Growing up I was quick to learn that just being nice and kind to people will not mean some will be kind towards me, some people go around looking for nice people to pry on and take advantage of their kindness.

I have shown kindness to people in the past and at the end of the day, some just thought they took advantage of me not knowing I intentionally wanted to be kind just because I wanted to and because it is the right thing to do.

As I grow older my ageless-looking face and being an introvert does not help in this regard. A lot of people see me and just conclude in their mind that I'm very naive, they sometimes try to take advantage of me when we relate, until I give them the don't mess with me kind of attitude and some will be so surprised about me being someone they can't mess around with.

In their surprised mood, some have confessed and said, wow, you are wise, or Wow you are intelligent and in my defense, I will say, sorry for not being a fool! 😒 😆

This has made me wonder at times, why can't people just be kind to one another just because it is the right thing to do? So, if I'm to be naive like the type of people I met above who thought I was unwise, they would have just messed me up instead of pointing me in the right direction.?What a world we live in.

Does this behavior of people make me unkind?

No, not at all, and never. But I have learned to set my boundaries, yes, I'm still kind to people simply because it is the right thing to do. I'm always careful not to put myself in a position where people can mistreat, take advantage of me, or do unkind things to me and this has helped a lot.

I believe that the world can be a better place if people treat one another kindly, and with empathy, regardless of if they look younger than their age or not. If they are young or old.

On the positive side, this usually gives me an edge against the opposite forces, as my ability and wiseness are mostly underrated, at the end of the day I usually deliver more than people's expectations.

On the other side of the coin, I have been fortunate enough to come in contact with truly amazing and kind people every single day, their kindness toward me most times is just overwhelming and I will always be grateful for such types of people.

People mistaking me for someone they can take for a ride has always been the most misunderstood thing some have towards me. And I'm glad to share it in this week's ladies of hive community contest, answering the question;
