An Undreamed Parenting

No one ever dreams of being a single parent. Due to its negative impact on the kids involved and the parents.

Everyone starting a family plans to have a happy and lovely home, where the kids can grow with the two parents providing them with an enabling environment and nurturing them with love, care, and discipline. So the family unit of the society has always been very important and needs to be protected as much as possible.

But sadly, sometimes life happens, things don't always go as planned, Parents have to be separated while some die young leaving their partner shouldering the responsibility of raising the kids alone.

A lot of times, being a single parent can simply be avoided if one chooses the right partner for themselves. But then, in a world where people will hide their true nature and intention for selfish reasons but only to show the true color during the marriage. This has been one major reason for one becoming a single parent aside from the death of one's partner.

Sometimes, people going into marriage are not patient enough to find the right partner for themselves due to one reason or another, hence such a person could end up becoming a single parent if the marriage fails.

Other times people have no idea how tough it is raising a family. Thereby making them start a family without adequate financial, and emotional maturity. All these are to be considered in order not to end up as single parents.

Challenges of being a single parent

Financial challenges; One of the major challenges faced by single parents is making financial provisions for the kids. Providing for kids even with both parents has never been child's play, now think of one single person taking on such responsibility by his/herself. It is wise for anyone planning to have kids to always think about financial responsibility involved in raising children, ask themselves if they can take care of their child, and make adequate financial plans for them. Having a financial plan for the kids can make the job of a single parent a lot easier.

Emotional challenges

Kids need the availability of the emotions of their parents to strive. But a single parent should strive to be there for the kids and not let the financial responsibility involved in taking care of such kids take the better of him/her.

Cultural and societal challenges

Every cultures and societies, frown at being a single parent, this could sometimes make things more difficult for a single parent, for this such a parent should try their best to be disciplined, carry themselves in a respectful manner and also strive to train the kids in a good and a disciplined way.

After all, the society wants what is best so they should give their best to their kids and to the society at large.

Focus On The Positive Side

A single parent should never let the anger of the failed marriage get the best of them. The kids need them to be there for them, for that a single parent should focus on giving their best to the kids instead of dueling in the negativity of the failed marriage.

Give time to heal

A single parent should learn to heal from the hurt of a failed marriage, they should forgive themselves for any mistake on their behalf or mistakes of their partner for their own peace of mind and as well for the best interest of their kids.

Being a single parent is never desirable, but there are single parents that have raised great and wonderful kids, they just have to be ready to take on such a great responsibility and give it their best.
