Daddy's love for their daughters prompt 36

There are real fathers and there are figure head fathers. To be a good father who protects their own like their life depended on it are scarce.

Father' are the role model, guidian, advisor and a preacher. The way they preach ehn? Father's are great 👍

*Looking at the last question on hiveghana prompt36 brought me back to memory lane. *

DAD VS BOYFRIEND

I can’t seem to get a hold of why fathers and their daughters boyfriends never see eye to eye especially on their first meeting.

Hmmm! Fathers seeing their daughters boyfriends on the first meeting without following the interrogation process as to why you want to snatch their daughters away cannot just happen like that in my tribe, you have to go through the mothers to give you a clue as to what to expect on the hot seat. Some mothers are fearful to discuss something like that, while some are easily approachable on matters like that.

I remember my growing up days, my dad used to over protect us, all we wanted as kids was provided at home so we would not go out. 🧐
My Dad of blessed memory will always tell my mom to never send us out either to the market or any errand that can expose us.
How do we ( my sister and I) go to school? We went to school through motorbike both morning and afternoon. Others kids will be trekking, playing while going home but we were never permitted. I missed the fun and the gist of those days.

There are lots of reasons why fathers may be overprotective of their daughters.

In the generation of today, if you are not careful and stand firm to protect your daughters, educate them on the things they should know of why they are being protected, they might end up in the wrong arms.

In my tribe (Yoruba), you cannot just go directly to meet the father to discuss your intentions about his daughter, ### you go wound o the hot seat is 100% on fire. At least, you have to cut corners before you can meet the father.

Fathers may be protective of their daughters and want to ensure that they are being treated well by their partners. This could lead to fathers asking numerous questions and it would be as if the man is in an interview during the first meeting. I was there when my sister brought her man to see my Dad. Daddy finished this man with lots of questions on their first meeting to the extent they postponed the meeting to another time again🤣

Fathers may be jealous to see their daughters' boyfriends as threats to their bond with their daughters. They may feel jealous or worried that the boyfriend will take their place as the most important man in their daughter's life. My Dad told my sister when she was due for marriage to go back again and think if the man she brought would be able to protect her enough 🤣🤣

However, my Dad intended to make sure, my sister was to be with a good man, who would be able to protect her and their future children. How best can he be? He must have a good job to take care of her and be respectful, a respectful man will listen to her rants and be hardworking. Both parties need to communicate well enough so that, they can build a positive and respectful relationship.

I remember, how I did little bride for my sister and she said I should come spend some days with her but my Dad refused, he said he could not leave his two daughters out but my sister insisted. Hmmm! I refused to sleep and I became very hot and Dad came to pick me up the next day o. Upon seeing him, my temperature became normal immediately without any form of medication.

Seeing my husband do the same to our daughter took me back to how our dad was to his daughters. The bond between my husband and her daughter is strong to the extent, that she will choose her dad over me at times. That's how it was with my Daddy too. We prefer him over Mum not because Mum is bad but because the love for daughters and their fathers is unquantifiable.

A real father is jealous of seeing another man with his daughter, let alone taking her daughter away for a lifetime.
