STORMY POND REFLECTIONS~~Reflection Hunters Contest ~ Round 137

Good day to all my friends, hope life is treating you well.

It was a cool evening, not really cold but I could hear the wind picking up outside. I love the wind so I picked up my camera and went for a walk to the pond.

It had been a fairly sunny day just a few hours before, with some nice puffy clouds here and there in the sky with the blue as the backdrop. But once the sun started to go down and the wind picked up a few notches, the clouds rolled in, not the fluffy kind of cloud, but the darker spookier ones.

The pond was spotless, our @thebigsweed pool boy always does an outstanding job keeping it clean and pristine. I heard he doesn't call it work, he calls it hobbitizing.

I am a #reflection #hunter as well as a #shadow #hunter, so when the pond came into view I was thrilled to see so many different reflections on the water.

As I snapped away with my Cannon Power Shot SX530 HS, I watched the clouds take over the blue sky and turn grey.

Before the blue was even completely clouded over little pelts of rain hit the water.

This photo is not a reflection, but the sky, all that beautiful blue would soon disappear.

When the pond was built on the #homestead back in 1989 we planted small evergreens around it so that at some point in the future the trees would become a natural privacy fence. Needless to say, the plan worked. You can see in this reflection those giant pines keep us tucked up in our own private world.

What a lovely spot!!! I want to dig a pond. It's kind of silly since I have a lake, but I love ponds mostly because they are much warmer! Yours is fabulous. Well done.

And the photos! Love that first one, with the waves from the disturbance distorting the reflections of the tree tops. Really nice.

Hi there, so glad you dropped by.
The pond is where we hang out in the summer. We have a grill set up, music and cornhole. The kids love to swim, so naturally grammy and pop have lots of floaties for all.
In the winter, we try to keep the ice cleared so we can skate. We have a firepit down there which allows us to stay out and look at the stars.
AND...
Always lots of wonderful reflections!

Have a lovely weekend.

Oh yeah! I saw a recent post by your pool boy at work on the pond and you are lucky that he is an expert in these things 😉 !LOLZ

Some lovely pictures in here and the Canon Powershots are indeed a great series of cameras. I also like the idea of covering the area with the trees for privacy as it was a very smart thought.
Blessings you guys have aplenty with that place.

Hello my friend, yes Bob is amazing with everything farming. He really enjoys keeping the pond clean and safe for swimming.

The pond is such a great source for reflections. I am always hunting for the perfect one.

Hope you and Marian are well. Thanks so much Zac for all your support.

Now don't cut yourself short Lady Robin, as you are both the complete package of farming expertise.
Bob does his things well and you do the same.

The pond looks like a really peaceful place, and I am sure that you will get many more excellent reflections.

We are both as well as can be thank you and I know that you guys are also well. Great to see how well Bob has recovered.

Marian sends her love, and we also thank you guys for all of the support.

We are very careful not to claim any of our achievements, as we are mere empty vessels that allow the Spirit to do the work through us milady. You and your man have the same hearts as us and that's why we click.
Marian sends her love also to you Lady Robin.

Oh what a gorgeous spot. Is it deep? Can you swim in there? Does the pool boy bring you cocktails?

Haha, why did you think Bob planted those trees, he doesn't want anyone to see his outfit when he serves me my cocktail...hehehe

Our pond is deep and sits over 5 or six natural springs, when we bought the property our only source of water was a hand pump back in the woods.

We swim all summer long, we set up daily when the kids are here on vacation with the grill, a cooler of drinks, snacks, games, cornhole mostly and loads of floaties for the kids.

In the winter, we plow the ice for skating and hockey. It's a blast.

Hope you are doing well, you are going to be a grammy, or already are am I correct?

It's such a joy for me when my family comes to visit.

Be happy and well my friend, have a beautiful weekend.

Hello there @jlufer, nice to hear from you. It's so funny how I have never really appreciated shadows and reflections like I do now. That's what I love about #hive, sharing new experiences.
Hope you and your family are well and happy.

Peace my brother.
