Typewriter ribbon

On seeing this prompt from the freewriters community, the strings of the mind tingled, and movies of memories started appearing in the mind. Even though the typewriter may not be of any importance today, 3 decades ago it was impossible to imagine working in any office without it, we have also worked in those times when writing was possible only through the typewriter.

I clearly remember that once at 10 o'clock in the night, I was typing some important letter in my office, it was absolutely necessary to be sent on time.

But suddenly while typing, the typewriter's ribbon broke into two pieces.
At first, I was scared and disappointed that how would I be able to send this letter now because no shops would be open at night.

There was no one else in the office at that time except me. Then an idea came to mind. I took out the reels on both sides, took out all the ribbon on one side, put it in the dustbin, put about half of the ribbon on the reel, and set it on the typewriter.

The result turned out to be very pleasant, my letter got typed completely and then could be dispatched on time, In those days letters were sent by post only, there was no facility for email.

And then the next day I told my experience and this trick to all my colleagues and subordinates.
