Could you give up sugar for good?: WEEK 256

I don't think I can give up sugar forever, because I developed tastes or attachments to certain foods that without the particular touch of sugar would be different, what I can do is to reduce the amount of sugar I consume. Some people like salty foods and others like sweeter foods like me, but what I could never get used to was drinking fruit juices or coffee without sugar, the juices tasted tasteless to me and the coffee was very bitter.I respect people who can, but I don't like it, I've even drank it with honey, but it's never the same taste..

some time ago I took the challenge to live a year without processed sugar and I failed, I only lasted 6 months and the first weeks it was very difficult because I was invited to parties, birthdays, they invited me to eat ice cream, I always made up an excuse, those days I felt terrible, very tired, but after the first month my energy level was regularized and I felt more energy and strength.my main enemy was sugary drinks, because in my house for many years we had the bad habit that every meal was accompanied with a soda and that was very difficult to replace with natural juices sweetened with a little honey.the only sugar I could say that I consumed was the one provided by fruits and honey.

i remember that i gave up sweets, cakes, desserts, ice cream, jelly beans, chewing gum and many other things.but what really blew my mind was to discover that many products that i used to buy and that i thought were healthy, such as sausages, yogurts, custard, cookies, sausages, tomato sauce and others, have sugar added to them to improve their taste.90% of the products that we buy in the big super markets have sugars, some more, some less.but the vast majority, if we investigate well, they add sugar, that is why we are so addicted to sugar, that is why it is so difficult for a person with diabetes, a pathological disease, to stay healthy, because without knowing it, he continues to consume large amounts of sugar when consuming these products.the only way to live without eating sugar would be to have a carnivorous diet.i do believe that there should be a balance in our diet and that we should always be active doing sports, but it is worth mentioning that i stopped drinking sodas, i only drink them on birthdays or when we share, but we should not be obsessed with that, we have to give ourselves our tastes but not fall into gluttony..
