Seeds in the making

Autumn in a garden is full of decaying plants, flowers without petals, drying seed pods... generally all the good stuff. And there is a lot to shoot! On a good, sunny day, everything can be an object, you just need to look a bit closer.

These are Candytuft seeds in the making. After the flowers are gone, they create this lovely rosette. In this stage, they remind me of some of the succulents that I grow with their perfect shapes and symmetry.

They are just about 3 cm across, and each can produce a few dozen seeds. They drop on the ground, and in late spring, they grow wherever they want.

At this stage, they are bright green, with the little antennas in a lighter yellow, almost white colour.
Sorry, not sorry, for removing the colours. I liked the shapes and how the light created all the shadows. Black and white won this time.

Later on, the green turns yellow, and the whole thing just dries up. The seeds drop, and only little sticks are left. At that point (not in the photos here) it looks like a skeleton hand. Quite pretty too :)

I love the texture, although at first I thought it was a cactus.
!LOLZ
So your are expecting more succulent in the future, or you will just get rid f the seed?

This is not a succulent and the seeds just fall to the ground. We dont pick them. They regrow on their own wherever they want :)

wow... Absolutely perfect, I also at the beginning of sending the flowers you photographed classified as therapeutic plants after I saw clearly it was not.
I know that if you are a lover of therapeutic plants, I admire you every time you take pictures of some flowers.

Good morning dear friend @ewkaw
The garden can be the ideal place to take photographs, I love these photographs, having combined these macro image techniques in monochrome is great.
Beautiful shots, appreciate you sharing with us.

(Edited)

I never feel sorry for removing the colours - the colours are just distraction.

(I really like this monochromatic song today 😁)

Sometimes I have a dilemma if I should, because some photos are just so nice in colour too. Then I find another shot that I dont feel sorry for anymore :p

(Yayyy!! :D)

That's precisely what I'm saying

because some photos are just so nice in colour

But essentially pretty without the color (I think they are prettier) - it's a mouthful. That's why I say that color is distraction.

Maybe this "disabled" English of mine doesn't convey the idea well 😁

I know exactly what you mean :) I often say that colours are distraction too and generally the black and white shots have more to say.
I just dont have the heart to remove them from some photos...

This candytuff looks very beautiful in black and white pictures, I like autumn, because the flowers are falling and the leaves are starting to turn yellow and fall to fill the streets in the village making the natural scenery even more beautiful.
