Amazing Nature Contest: Thematic Challenge - #5/4/21 | BROTES DE HOJAS - SPROUTING LEAF BUDS [Esp-Eng]
Greetings dear nature-loving Hivers herewith I present my participation in this week's contest which I invite you to follow via here .
Just now in my country Venezuela is temporary week of flexibility, that is time to perform and fulfill activities outside the home, thanks to this I could attend my work center which is in a small and nice school in the state where I present myself twice during this weekly period, with this visit I receive and review the activities of my students who are brought by their parents or representatives.
Jardín de mi escuela | My school garden
My small and beautiful school is located towards the west of the city of Caracas - 23 de Enero parish. There we have a nice garden where some ornamental shrubs and other fruit trees are very well preserved and are lovingly cared for by Mr. Luis.
Having the great idea of participating in this week's contest, with my smart phone I stopped to look at the buds of some flowers we have, most of them are wild flowers such as dandelion or bitter chicory, whose scientific name is Taraxacum officinale, which has multiple health benefits especially viral infections. A little more about it Here
I notice that there are several specimens of it and before becoming those spikes that so many children like to blow and chase, they are beautiful white buds, although I saw some violet ones.
During the tour I was able to look at many fallen petals of the school's favorite flower.
When it is its season it shows its beautiful degradation of colors between reds and pinks that impact decorating the whole garden since we have many bushes of it. Depending on the country region where it blooms it receives a name, personally I know it as Chinese Rose or Cayenne whose scientific identity is Hibiscus rosa-sinensis
Upon further inspection I found extraordinary buds, some with the most intense colors and others just beginning to emerge.
I was even more surprised when I looked up following some birds perched on top of one of the bushes... and there was alone a Cayenne elegance showing its splendor, and I decided to approach it, asking for permission to take a picture of it at different angles.
Raising myself up on a small log and stretching out my arms, I was able to capture this beauty.
As for its usefulness, apart from decorating the environment, I understand that it has beneficial properties for human consumption, both the leaves and the flower to prepare cosmetics, infusions and salads, it is even used to extract dyes. Many years ago I worked in an ecological school and the drink par excellence was cayenne flower with lemon, giving a refreshing and relaxing sensation to the organism.
Here is my contribution of a before and after of this beautiful flower, I hope you enjoyed the tour as much as I did and I was very pleased and satisfied.
