I WONDER WHAT NIGERIA NEPA WILL TELL GOD ON JUDGEMENT DAY

An electrical outage is an interruption in the distribution of electricity to certain places. It could occur for several reasons, including severe climate conditions (such as thunderstorms or lightning), an accident (like a car collision), breakdowns of equipment, grid overload, or intentional behaviors.

When there is a power outage, electrical devices, systems, or appliances that rely on electricity may stop working. and Various areas of daily life including Lighting, heating and cooling systems, connectivity, mobility, and the use of electronic gadgets may also be affected.

Why do I say intentional action?
When I was in school, prepaid meters had not yet been implemented, so we still had to pay the electricity officials' bills each month or deposit money into their accounts, and then when they moved around, we would show them the payment receipt.

We had been without light for about a month during this time, which was very unpleasant without a specific reason. They never showed up to fix any issues that may have existed.

We contacted the agents in charge of each apartment, and they all said they would complain to the officials on our behalf because the blackout had been going on for exactly one month.

On a fateful Friday when most students were present, NEPA officials came to the street fixed the light, and began requesting the monthly bills. We all came outside and yelled at them, "You came to fix the light after it had been out for a month" We never agreed to your charges and they all went after hearing that from us.

They returned the following week and demanded payment for the monthly charges. Students were present in the area, and as it was orientation week at school, the majority of them chose not to participate in the program, so that day we had time for them.

After a month of darkness, they dared to enter our street to demand payment. When we arrived in large numbers, they were about to cut off the light from the pole, claiming that we had not paid our charges. One of the students removed the ladder and asked the man to climb up and turn off the light if he could. We thought it was a joke because the other officials were not with them, they had left two of them to handle our area.

We all know that we are playing with fire and smelling trouble, so the man just held on to the pole tightly while pleading for his life because there was nothing they could do at that moment. After much pleading, the guy decided to raise the ladder to come down.

He came down and left with the other guy, they didn't touch the light again but instead reported our street to others went to our transformer, and turned off our light on purpose because of what we had done to their coworkers. This wasn't funny at all, for almost a semester, there was no light unless you had a generator or brought all of your devices to school to charge then have a power bank that would sustain you at night.

That was when I learned how to use a power bank. Around that time, most students in the area purchased power banks. The fact that I had already planned to leave the area, had only two weeks left for my rent to elapse and had already found a new apartment saved me. However, my friend later informed me that the blackout lasted for three months and a few weeks.

DO I LEARN ANYTHING FROM THIS EXPERIENCE?
Yes I did, I learned how to be calm with people, and we could have resolved the issue amicably without resulting in the blackout but on the other side, NEPA officials are wicked, they did it on purpose to suffer the students, and they are heartless and wicked.

This is my response to this week's episode of Hivelearners Community #hl-w84e3. If you wish to participate in the ongoing prompt you can click Link

Here I came to know, how much bad performance NEPA has in Nigeria. I have read posts from many Nigerian friends about electricity issues and illegitimate billing. Students are back in the country, they should not be panicked with these issues. I 'm sorry, you people are facing these conditions.

Our NEPA officials are sadists. These folks and the Police are always known for their weird act of malevolence.

I like what you said about choosing a more peaceful approach to things. I know it is very common for something like that to happen in Nigeria because I've seen it on several occasion but it isn't something I enjoy watching because it usually leads to more complications and the people that suffer the most are people in the neighborhood.

You are right, the neighborhood suffers it because they don't care about the people, they are always after the pocket. Thank you for your support

I believe they can't have anything tangible to say to God because they are agent of darkness. It's so annoyed how everywhere will just be dark without supply of electricity

It is so frustrating, they are doing some things on purpose to punish most of the citizens, they are part of our problem in this country
