Hoy me animé a participar en este concurso de costura para mascotas, mi inspiración es mi amado Mathías, la mascota nueva, un dulce gatito que tiene aproximadamente 4 semanas de vida.

Lo encontré el 8 de este mes en curso, es decir, que apenas tiene 15 días a mi lado y trato de darle la mejor vida que merece y todo mi amor, para que crezca en un hogar feliz como toda mascota debería vivir.

Como estamos nuevos en mi el alquiler y pues nuevos con él también, había pensado en comprarle una cama por Shein, pero se me ocurrió la idea de hacerle una yo misma y participar con esa propuesta acá.

Today I was encouraged to participate in this pet sewing contest, my inspiration is my beloved Mathías, the new pet, a sweet kitten who is about 4 weeks old.

I found him on the 8th of this month, that is, he is only 15 days old and I try to give him the best life he deserves and all my love, so he can grow up in a happy home as every pet should live.

As we are new in my rental and therefore new with him too, I had thought of buying him a bed through Shein, but I came up with the idea of making him one myself and participate with that proposal here.

Los materiales que utilicé para este proyecto de costura fueron:

  • 40 cm (largo) x 1.50 m (ancho) de tela peluche o felpa
  • Agujas e hilo de coser
  • Tijeras

The materials I used for this sewing project were:

  • 40 cm (length) x 1.50 m (width) of plush or plush fabric
  • Needles and sewing thread
  • Scissors

Mathías desde que vió la tela nueva no dejó de amasar, así que trabajamos juntos en esto.

Primero, recorté un cuadrado de 40 cm x 40 cm para hacer la base de la cama y con el restante de la tela saqué 4 tiras dobles de 40 cm largo x 20 de alto para las barandas de la cama.

Mathias since he saw the new fabric did not stop kneading, so we worked together on this.

First, I cut a 40 cm x 40 cm square to make the base of the bed and with the rest of the fabric I cut 4 double strips of 40 cm long x 20 cm high for the bed rails.

Utilicé el relleno de una almohada vieja para darle volúmen a la cama.

Cosí todas las piezas al revés y las voltié para rellenarlas luego, e ir cosiendo para unir cada baranda con la base principal de la cama.

I used the stuffing from an old pillow to add volume to the bed.

I sewed all the pieces upside down and turned them inside out to stuff them later, and then sewed to join each rail to the main base of the bed.

Después de coser todo, uní las esquinas para levantar las barandas rellenas de la camita y así esta queda con profundidad.

El resultado quedó mejor de lo que esperaba, ya que tenía tiempo sin hacer contenido para esta comunidad así como también coser, y me animé y todo salió bien.

After sewing everything together, I joined the corners to raise the stuffed rails of the bed so that the bed has depth.

The result was better than I expected, since I had some time without making content for this community as well as sewing, and I was encouraged and everything went well.

Mathías no aguantó y se fué amasar su nueva cama, así que creo que le gustó jeje y la hice lo bastante grande para que la use de adulto.

Mathias couldn't stand it and went off to make his new bed, so I think he liked it hehe and I made it big enough for him to use as an adult.

My granddaughter has one lady Persian cat given by her Aunt but she can't bring it home since we have a 23-month old baby. In time she will be when he gets older soon.

Oooooooooh - this is tooo adorable, dear @emybaby - what a beautiful project... It moves me a lot to hear of others who take care of found animals, and how the wee sweethearts appreciate and thrive on our love.. Really moving too to see Mathias kneading the basket sides, as if it were his mama, bless him. It is such a perfect fluffy mother-like basket. Beautiful work in every sense!
