LOH Community Contest #172:The Art Of Showing Care

My warm greetings to all the wonderful ladies in this amazing community! It's another week to connect with you all in this week's contest. Special greetings to @meraki7578 for the wonderful topics and for being the judge for this week's activity,

My post will give an answer to one of the questions for this week's contest which is;

2️⃣ Forget Valentine's Day — how do you truly show someone you care? Is it a grand gesture, a thoughtful gift, heartfelt words, or something different entirely?

Undoubtedly, showing care is one of the attributes of true humanity and it plays a very significant role in the life of every human on earth big or small. Through personal experiences I have learnt that when showing care, one doesn't necessarily have to do something so out of the world . So over time, I have tried to start with the little things that actually make a big difference in order to show more care to people around me and it has helped me strengthen my bonds with people.

Checking Up On Them

This is the most effective way I show care to my loved ones. People appreciate it when we take just a minute out of our time to remind them that they are in our thoughts regardless of how busy we are and who knows? It might be just what someone needs to get up back. Imagine having to go through every phase of your life alone with no one thinking about you or wanting to know how well you're faring. It can be pretty bad
Sometimes I get so busy with daily routines and activities that I forget to call or text people for days or even weeks. I decided to set check-in reminder and it has proven to be so helpful and now my connections are even stronger. Life has different packages for different people. There were people in my life once upon a time who I thought we were inseparable. But now they are out of sight and the only thing I do is constantly check in on them as a way of showing that they are still on my mind.

Giving Thoughtful Gifts

A gift may not necessarily be something with a price tag. It may be something physical or not . I love giving gifts as much as I love receiving them. When it comes to gifts, I like to make it is intentional. A lot of my friends love it when I listen to them . Even when I don't say anything in return, as long as I give them a listening ear, they count it as a gift I have given. Sometimes, I give out kind words and words of encouragement to someone who is struggling to get over a very difficult phase and it gives me so much joy seeing a smile creep the person's face after hearing a few kind words.

Offering A Helping Hand

Action is a very essential aspect of care-giving. Acknowledging someone's struggles without doing even the smallest thing to help out may not be a way of showing care. Doing little things for people is my way of showing how much I care about them. While going about my business, I try to be observant to ways I can show care everyday. It may be helping out a mother who's struggling to co-ordinate her little kids in public, or helping a grandma cross a major road or even offering to carry their bags. It doesn't matter what we do, as long as we help someone out there let out a breath of relief, we have shown some care

It is important that we always remember that verbal expressions of love and care may not accomplish so much when compared to putting those words in action. Seeing , they say is believing and there is no better way to make this season of love count than to show our friends and loved ones how much we care for them, how much we value them and how much we always want want them beside us.

This is a beautiful post!

I especially appreciate your focus on little actions with big impact like checking in, offering kind words, and lending a helping hand.

What stood out to me most was your personal touch, sharing specific examples of how you show care in your own life.
