LOH Community Contest #156 ~ My Source of Inspiration

What makes you hold onto hope? Enlighten us on something you do to create a safe, positive space around yourself, to boost the belief or conviction to always look for the cloud with a silver lining, even if it means starting again?

"Don't loose hope, no situation is permanent." - African Proverb

I have never been the one with big faith, right from the onset, not like I don't believe in God and that God can do something, I mean we all know the adage "There is light at the end of the tunnel", but for me, my faith is very little especially when my consciousness and subconsciousness is beginning to accept the fact that this thing or situation is going to be tough and may or may not come out as expected, I naturally at this state begin to waver because I don't know what to expect any more. It's not just for a particular situation, it also involves people as well.

My sibling has always been my source of inspiration after the death of our father, she has been the only reason why immediately after I was done with my senior secondary school, I had to pick a job one month later because I wanted her to get the life my father would have given to her if he was alive.

She was very little when we lost our father and I am quite sure, can not vividly put a face to who our father was, although we have a picture of him, but not sure she had as many physical memories of him as I had. I had all the good memories to remember him, but she didn't, I knew what was happening, but she didn't, she wasn't told of his death until months later. So when they laid my father to rest that faithful day, I made a promise to make her not feel the absence of our father even though I know I can never replace him and ever since then, she has always been the only person who makes me hold onto hope, my promise to her, putting a smile on her face, not letting her feel the absence of our father, all of that because of her. So, when the going gets tough, and I feel like walking away and not looking back, I remember her, and that keeps me striving and thriving because I want her to always smile.

When it comes to something I do to boost the belief or conviction to always look for the cloud with a silver lining, even if it means starting again, all I do is shut myself out of the problem, I don't know how I do it but my mind knows when it needs such space and it naturally helps me shut my problem out like it was never there while I entertain new thoughts like going out with my friend, and having fun and most times, I could just go back to being grateful to God for everything, and instead of dwelling in my problem, although it looks difficult but over the years that has worked for me.

I just forget I was once in a fixed situation for some time and concentrate more on making myself happy and enjoy the moment, I would just always see reasons to be grateful to God for the things he has done so far, then after I am stable mentally and physically, I can go back to face my problem squarely with a clear mind and from a different perspective.
