Exploration, stealth, and a lot of Wildlife.

Many times while playing we are in such a hurry to complete the mission that we almost never stop to admire a landscape or to see the behavior of a certain animal or NPC. Thanks to the initiative of @gamingphoto and the Gaming Photography community, today we can put an end to this through their Gaming Photography Weekly Contest - Theme: Virtual Wildlife Photography. I hope you will be encouraged to participate in the contest and by the way next time you are playing the game stop to admire a little bit the landscapes and creatures that the developers put there for us.

Well, I'll start by saying that this is my first time participating in a community contest and before I start I want to invite my friends @yale95reyra, @lindoro and @ibarra95 to join this contest. That said, today's publication is a bit out of the usual theme I usually bring you, but I will certainly take advantage of it, as I will collect all the necessary materials to improve my equipment while I travel the map in search of that wildlife waiting to be photographed.

I also want to clarify that these screenshots are the product of more than one gamer trick. First of all, I must say that this game does not have a portrait mode so all the screenshots are taken with the game interface covering a large part of the image.

The solution I came up with to get clean pictures was to activate stealth mode and try to frame the scene. This way I was able to get what I wanted to photograph between the rotating map and the character's status bars. So how it went from this ...

to this.

Of course, to achieve this I also had to change my character's class from warrior to rogue, otherwise I wouldn't be taking full advantage of the stealth mode. Additionally, I must admit that these are not the best pictures, but based on the graphics performance of my computer and the texture quality of the game, I think they look pretty good 😅.

Anyway, I will put below each image the original copy so that you can also see how I took the picture and in what circumstances I was. I tell you all this because I didn't just arrive and take the picture, sometimes I had to wait, other times I had to change the angle in stealth mode and there were even times when I had to jump into the water to be able to take the picture.

Now let's talk about the stealth mode and the photogenic drawbacks. It's no mystery to anyone that in this type of game almost everything wants to kill you, so you have to sneak up on them, and that wouldn't be a problem if you didn't see the blissful symbol that tells you whether you're being detected or not.

Really, if it were not for that mark everything would be easier, because for example when the bears are sleeping I can practically stand next to them using stealth. But if I try to do it standing up, they detect me at more than 6 meters away, a range that is only surpassed by wolves.

Some of the following images may show animals that are not wild, but they are still very impressive. Both chickens and bulls are excellent photographic models within the animal kingdom of this game.

I don't know if this is their normal behavior or if they do it out of fear, but as soon as I stare at them they freeze in place. I like to think that they like the pictures because you only have to look at a bull to realize that at that size there are not many things he is afraid of.

But well, getting back to the wildlife theme, I think the antelopes are the ones that took the spotlight in my photo shoot today. Thanks to their clamorous lifestyle and svelte poses I was able to make these captures.

And that would be all for the moment. Soon, I will continue with the main story of the game and then move on to its three main expansions. I hope the wildlife images have been to your liking, as I for one enjoyed participating in this beautiful community initiative.

No doubt this game has a great wildlife, really good that you found an ingenious way to better capture the images avoiding the user interface or hud :D . Sometimes we can have a lot of difficulties to capture quality images with the existence of a portrait mode, of course, this is more common in retro games than in current games.

Dude and excellent captures, I liked the images where you can see a kind of waterfalls, the water in this game is very well done (and)

Cheers pal.

Even though the game is a bit old, it still manages to surprise in some graphical aspects. Mainly I love the lighting and the landscape design.

Thanks for commenting.

The images of the antelopes were great, my favorite.... Those tricks you used to capture the images were quite ingenious and gave a good result.

When the game does not cooperate, new ways must be invented, the important thing is not to give up.

Wow, from one moment to another you have teleported me from the otherworldly wildlife with majestic and beautiful creatures in sight, lol I am amused by the fact that maybe the chicken likes photographs and that's why he stays still.

Good luck friend in the challenge really a video game in which there are several details to see I also agree with you this challenge encourages paying more attention to each scenario place and even ecosystems that make life essential in a video game…
