Greetings CineTV friends, this is the first time I post in the community and I want to through my participation in it contest created by @cinetv. The theme of the contest is to make a movie review that addresses the theme of robotics. In my case I decided to select "I, Robot". This film was released on July 16, 2004 and was very well received by the general public. Perhaps many may say that its success is due to the direction of Alex Proyas, who has also directed other popular films such as "Dark City" and "The Crow".
But in my opinion the film owes its success mainly to the fact that it touches on a subject that has generated controversy over time and will continue to do so. Not to mention that the well-crafted screenplay was written by Jeff Vintar and Akiva Goldsman, loosely based on a collection of science fiction stories written by Isaac Asimov.
Overall, "I, Robot" received mixed reviews. Many, many people praised its visual effects, which were very impressive for the time, and the performance of Will Smith, while others felt that the plot became predictable, which only happens at the beginning, and that it did not fully explore the complexities of Asimov's universe. The film addresses ethical and moral issues related to artificial intelligence and human-robot interaction in the near future. It explores themes such as trust, fear of the unknown and the responsibility of technology in society.

Saludos amigos de CineTV, esta es la primera vez que publico en la comunidad y quiero a través de mi participación en él concurso creado por @cinetv. La temática del concurso es realizar una reseña sobre la película que aborde el tema de la robótica. En mi caso decidí seleccionar a “Yo, Robot”. Este filme se estrenó el 16 de julio de 2004 con contó con muy buena aceptación del público en general. Quizás mucho puedan opinar que sé su éxito se debe a contó con la dirección de Alex Proyas, quien también ha dirigido otras películas populares como "Dark City" y "The Crow".Pero en mi opinión la película debe su éxito principalmente a que toca un tema que ha generado polémica a través del tiempo y que lo seguirá haciendo. Sin dejar de mencionar que el guion, muy bien trabajado, fue escrito por Jeff Vintar y Akiva Goldsman, basado vagamente en una colección de historias de ciencia ficción escrita por Isaac Asimov.
En general, "Yo, Robot" recibió críticas mixtas. Muchísimas personas elogiaron sus efectos visuales, los cuales eran muy impresionante para esa fecha, y la actuación de Will Smith, mientras que otros opinaron que la trama se volvía predecible, cosa que solo sucede al principio, y que no exploraba completamente las complejidades del universo de Asimov. As I said, the film is loosely inspired by Isaac Asimov's stories, although it departs significantly from the plot of the original novel. The story is set in Chicago, in the year 2035, where humanoid robots called NS-5 have been integrated into people's daily lives to perform household chores and serve as personal assistants. These robots are programmed to follow the Three Laws of Robotics, which require them to never harm a human being. However, when the brilliant scientist and founder of the company that manufactures the robots, Dr. Alfred Lanning, apparently commits suicide, Detective Spooner (played by Will Smith) is skeptical and begins to investigate the case. Spooner is known to have an aversion to robots due to a traumatic incident in the past.
As Spooner digs deeper into the investigation, he uncovers evidence suggesting that a particular NS-5, named Sonny, may be involved in Lanning's death. This challenges the belief that robots are incapable of breaking the Three Laws of Robotics. I personally loved Will Smith's performance as Detective Spooner. His charisma and ability to mix action and humor made the character very appealing. Also, the visual effects and action scenes are impressive and integrated effectively into the plot. Personally, there was nothing I really hated about the movie. I don't know if it's because I was very young when I first saw the film and didn't possess as much cinephile knowledge as I do now. However, some critics felt that the plot became predictable at certain points and that it didn't go deep enough into the philosophical issues it raised.
But what is clear to me is that "I, Robot" awakened in me a greater interest in issues related to artificial intelligence and technological ethics in my social circle. It generated many conversations about the possible future scenarios we could face in relation to robotics and the advances of technology in favor of human benefit. Who would have imagined that many years later I would graduate as a Computer Engineer, in short, things of destiny.

En lo personal me encantó la interpretación de Will Smith como el detective Spooner. Su carisma y habilidad para mezclar acción y humor hicieron que el personaje fuera muy atractivo. Además, los efectos visuales y las escenas de acción son impresionantes y se integran de manera efectiva en la trama. Personalmente, no hubo nada que realmente odié de la película. No sé si es porque era muy chico cuando vi por primera vez la película y no poseía tantos conocimientos cinéfilos como ahora. It also presents a fascinating vision of a dystopian future where the line between humans and robots is blurred. While not perfect, it is an entertaining and exciting film that combines action, science fiction and reflections on the relationship between humans and machines. That said, if you haven't seen it yet, you're still on time, as it's a film that has managed to age.
