My favourite Christmas memory was over two decades now. My dad took the family to the beach and it was a beautiful moment for all of us. We had lot to eat and drink, I remembered the horse ride and other activities that happened that day.

I was young but the memory remained intact till date we almost recreated the moment in 2009 but life happened and we couldn't.

My favorite holiday memories happened when I was still younger. The family all traveled to the village, there I met my peers and during the holiday we went fishing and hunting. Some fruits were ripe at that time , so we fetched some to eat most often.

Aside the fun time with friends, it was good connecting with families I didn't know before then

My favorite holiday memory from childhood is a bittersweet tale that occurred in the year 3000, during the annual Commemoration of the Stars. It was a holiday celebrated throughout the colonized galaxy, marking the day humanity first set foot on a planet beyond our solar system, symbolizing hope, exploration, and the indomitable spirit of our species.

I was ten years old, living on the orbital habitat Aeonis, a majestic structure encircling the Earth-like planet Eridani II. The habitat was a marvel of human engineering, a blend of biomes mimicking Earth's natural environments, with sprawling forests, artificial rivers, and even a miniature ocean with a simulated tidal system. The habitat was adorned with millions of bioluminescent plants that were genetically designed to glow in myriad colors, creating a mesmerizing spectacle of light.

The holiday was always a thrilling time, but that year was particularly special because my parents, both renowned xenobotanists, had promised a surprise. The day began with the traditional ceremony where everyone gathered in the Grand Arboretum, an enormous glass-domed forest at the center of Aeonis. The leaders of the habitat would tell stories of the first explorers, their voices echoing through the trees, as holographic displays recreated their voyages among the stars.

After the ceremony, my family and I embarked on an adventure to the outer rim of the habitat, where my parents had been working on a top-secret project. The journey there was an event in itself; we rode on anti-gravity sleds that skimmed over the landscape, dodging between towering trees and leaping over babbling brooks. The excitement in the air was palpable, and I remember feeling as if my heart would burst from my chest with anticipation.

When we arrived, my parents unveiled their surprise: a new species of plant they had engineered, called the Starbloom. The Starbloom was designed to bloom only once a year, during the Commemoration of the Stars. It was no ordinary plant; its petals were translucent and shimmered with a constellation of colors that seemed to dance and shift before our eyes. The center of the flower held a bioluminescent core that pulsed like the heart of a new-born star.

As the habitat's artificial night began to fall, a signal was sent to the Starblooms, and they opened in unison. It was a sight beyond description—thousands of radiant flowers blossoming simultaneously, casting a celestial glow over the landscape. The air was filled with a sweet, haunting melody as the flowers' movements generated a symphony of sound, a feature my parents had ingeniously woven into their genetic design.

But the true magic happened when the Starblooms began to release their spores into the air—tiny luminescent particles that drifted skyward, mingling with the artificial atmosphere to create a spectacle akin to a nebula. I remember standing there, hand in hand with my family, as we watched the sky transform into a living canvas of light and color. It was as if the entire galaxy had descended upon our little habitat, bringing with it the wonder of the cosmos.

In that moment, I felt an overwhelming connection to the universe and to the pioneering spirit that had driven humanity to the stars. It was a poignant reminder that even in the year 3000, amidst all our advancements and achievements, the simplest things—like the bloom of a flower—could still hold the power to inspire awe and unite hearts.

The memory of that night is etched into my soul, a reminder of the beauty of discovery and the enduring love of family. Though the years have passed and I've experienced countless holidays since, none have ever matched the intensity and emotion of that Commemoration of the Stars when the Starblooms first painted the sky with the light of a thousand suns.

My favorite Christmas memory was when I was six. We wen to Munoz to spend time with our relatives from Iloilo. It was the only time of the year when we would see our grandma and uncles on my father's side.

I was so happy that time because we were complete though I couldn't really remember who were there. It was also a time when I remembered being "a child" running free as I have always been introverted. I was so excited then because I rarely see my relatives.

My favorite holiday memory from childhood happened at my age 16. I can vividly remember how Dad was able to afford more chicken 🐔 just enough for our family throughout the season. Unlike the previous years when my siblings and I will have to visit our relatives to eat Christmas chicken. Things weren't rosy for Dad but when he saw light, he pampered us with plenty chickens that we ate until our cheeks started crying for rest . hahaha
I can't forget that year in a hurry

I remember when my school went for an excursion to visit father Christmas when I was still in primary school and then we went to collect gift from father Christmas not until one little kid removed father Christmas beards and cap and to my greatest surprise it was my neighbor that was living close to us that wore the custom lol. Since then I have been telling my friends that I really know who father Christmas is that he is my neighbor lol.

My favorite holiday memory from childhood was the moment when my aunt and uncle would tell me to put my wishlists on Santa’s socks at our door so that at midnight of Christmas, Santa would drop gifts for me.

Young as I was, it was so easy to believe stories from the older ones. I was so curious and it was also what I have seen in animations that Santa is dropping gifts to young and good children.

Funny how I believed that Santa would drop me a gift just like what my aunt and uncle told stories about Santa. Little did I know that they were reading my wishlist and placed them when I slept. And I cannot really forget that I am applying it to my younger cousins now, but this time, I am the Santa. Hehe

When I was 10 years old, my mother, aunt, and I went to Pingtan Island for a vacation.

The deep blue sea and the soft sandy beaches captivated me.

In the mornings, we built sandcastles together; in the afternoons, we laughed and played in the sea. In the evenings, we admired the beautiful sunset together.

I never forget lying on the beach outside our tent, gazing at the twinkling stars in the sky.

That time was filled with laughter, exploration, and emotional connections with family.

The holiday experience on Pingtan Island has become my most cherished childhood memory.😃😃

This question made me feel somewhat sad... My childhood memories are very vague, despite having shared them with my family, I don't have anything in particular that reminds me of an emotional story.

I only know that from a very young age I had to learn to be alone with myself.

From making my toys to making my world a place of magic...

Maybe that's why I treasure every second with my children so much.

Sorry for that, am glad you're creating good memories with your children now😊

Special thanks to @irisworld for this wonderful contest idea which has taken me back to over 14years ago when my father was alive and was still working as a nurse in a health center,

My father was always transferred from one state to another and we can't wait for him to come back on holidays,

On a particular festive season, my father came back home with alot of goodies ranging from different clothes, Christmas items, my special honey, and so many more,

We talked and played with him all day long because we really missed him.

If can turn back the hands of the clock, I will make sure those moments never ceases but atleast those memories still lives

My favorite youth Christmas memory is when my family and I used to enhance the Christmas tree collectively.
It was a paranormal and thrilling time, wherein we might all accumulate around the tree with boxes complete of brilliant and colourful ornaments.
Each of us had the task of placing an ornament on the tree, and every one was unique and unique.
The room would be full of laughter, Christmas music and the smell of freshly baked cookies.
Those moments had been surely magical, and I constantly keep them in my heart as a time of affection, togetherness and joy.

Day 19 Question

I was raised in a multicultural and multi-religious family, which gave me many fond memories during holidays when I was a child. My family on both my father and mother's sides were very close-knit, and my cousins, aunts, and uncles would always gather during festive occasions.

I remember during one of these celebrations, my cousins and I would gather, and my late grandfather would give us each a gift. We would line up like we were in school, and before receiving our gifts, we had to do something first, like dance, sing, spell something, or whatever my aunts and uncles would ask of us when we were still kids.

Since my late grandfather passed away, we have stopped this tradition. I miss my childhood memories dearly, especially the sweet moments I shared with my cousins.

As a child, the Christmas vacations were just when my father had the most work. He was a merchant and Christmas days were days of selling a lot.

So, being the oldest of my siblings, I had to go with my dad and work hard all day. The company was our business and, therefore, I had to go and make my contribution. I remember going with my father from the age of 12.

Some people think that's a bad thing for a child to do, but I feel now that Dad gave me a wonderful gift as an adult—responsibility, and love for what is one's own.

That went on for many years and I, instead of complaining, enjoyed it very much. The days went fast, I met a lot of people, ate a lot of tasty things, and learned a lot about commerce.

So my best vacations were those I enjoyed working with Dad in the family business.

Merry Christmas!

My special memory of Christmas is enjoying the simplicity of family togetherness, in the countryside enjoying nature, the family cooking, all my mother's sisters preparing the hallacas and telling anecdotes of when they were little, and my grandmother happy to see all her children and grandchildren together.

After preparing the food everyone took turns to take a bath and get ready because then came the party and dancing the joropo!

I will always remember the christmas when me and my cousin got drunk with our parents (They were OK with it, but I will not say how old we were then xD). Our parents obviously didn't let us get hammered to the point of no return, but just some light alcohol drinking. We had so much fun at is was great quality time spent with our dads.

From my childhood I remember the early snowfalls that were very heavy, we didn't go to school, but before noon we were in the street playing with snow. Pitched battles, throwing huge balls at us. The holidays and sweets were coming: Nougat, marzipan, almonds, chocolate, candied fruits, donuts and polka dots.
Daily games with friends or visiting uncles and spending days playing with cousins, while we impatiently waited for the toys and gifts to arrive on January 6 from the long-awaited Three Wise Men.
When we came to America, Venezuela, specifically, Baby Jesus brought them to us on Christmas Day and we enjoyed them more, until we returned to school on January 7 or 8, but he was already growing to continue receiving toys.
Toys continue to fascinate me, as much as books.

I remember in seventh grade, before the end of the year, I went on vacation with my grandparents, my uncles and my little cousin, they were one of the most beautiful vacations I had, I played a lot, I spent time on the beach with them on sunny days and hot.
Also walking through that town where we vacationed.
We still see those photos taken on the digital cameras of the time, mostly around 2008/2010.

I can't forget my childhood vacation in Istanbul with my family. I was living in the capital Ankara at the time, but I was curious about Istanbul. Istanbul is a metropolitan city in Turkey and very crowded.
One day my father gave us a nice surprise. My parents, my mom, my dad and my brother took a four-hour car ride to Istanbul. We stayed with my uncles there.
That week was very nice and it is in the best part of my memories.🎄

My favorite Xmas memory when I was nearly 10 years old I woke up all my relatives were at home temperature outside was lower than -20 degrees. But at home was warm. Windows all we covered with ice crystal❄💎
My grandma was cooking pancakes and pie🥧. And full home full filed with this tasty smell of hot pancakes, pie and Xmas tree 🎄 under which were presents for all family members. And after good breakfast we dressed up and went for a walk and ride on sladges down from the heel! This memory is still making my hear to beat stronger!

It was our tradition to cook all together every Christmas and New Year. It was hard since we cooked a lot because we had many guests at home. But it was always full of fun and a very warm time.

Hello everyone
Its a great way to freshen up your memories. When i was in 5th class our school organized a trip to Lotus temple. We reached there in the afternoon. Then they allowed on the matts . I was surprised why everyone is so quite here because i was not aware of the rules. Our group of 3 friends were talking and and one of my friend throw a joke on other friend, then i started laughing loudly, then everyone starts looking towards me. I was just shocked what i have done wrong, then our teacher instructed us to keep quit by using his hand gestures. Now also when i realize that memory I laugh.
