A Five Minutes Freewrites: Splurge, The Extravagant Spender

Tiktok! TikTok! The wall clock ticks. The doctor had said he had just 7 days to live. His heart races with each tick as he watches before his eyes his days counting down. Vanity upon vanity, he thought within himself, who would eat of that which he had labored all the days of his life. He had just one thing to do, spend everything he had worked for before he breathed his last.

It was 1932, the world was less sophisticated as it is now. Sophia Greg pondered on what he could do to make himself happier, one thing he had always wanted to do, the luxuries he had always desired. He traveled around the world eating from the best foods, traveling on private jets and sailed the best of marines. He bought for himself the best and expensive things his heart desired and things he didn't need. Even as he lived his best life, the thought that he would be no more in a few days bothered him.

Sophia Greg had no wife, had no child, he was still very young when he was faced with this fate. He cursed life for being cruel as he went about lavishing all he had worked for over the years. On the seventh day, he sat on his bed, his room neatly arranged and everything packed, the smile on his face knowing he had lived his best life lighted his countenance, dawn after dawn he sat on his bed waiting for death but it never came. On the fourteenth day, it was all cleared that death had forgotten him and he would live to face the consequences of his extravagant spending.

"I'm sorry Mr Sophia, I can no longer find any trace of the terminal disease, it seems life has given you more days to live" the Doctor said.

Sophia felt happy and at the same time sad , again he would start his life from scratch.

Ah, this is just like "happy-sad ending", lol.
Was there even a terminal sickness in the first place or it was just a bait for him to spend all he labored for to start all over again?

Lol, maybe life wanted him to squander all he had worked for.

It really is a story that starts out sad but then becomes happy, for being able to live many more days, but spending so much money as if there were no tomorrow and well, there was tomorrow.

I think the story ends as it began: sad kkkkk
