City Sued Over Daytime Camping Ban

Homelessness is a growing problem around the United States today with many who struggle to afford and secure basic shelter.

There are a variety of factors that contribute to this problem and things don't seem to be getting any better, especially when creative solutions are restricted by the state.

People are prevented from living in their cars, turning to tiny homes in many instances, not allowed to be parking in RVs in certain place etc, even though this could help some to get back on their feet and find something affordable. It is also arguably a better option for them than living under a bridge or sleeping outside of a business in the downtown region.

It's estimated that in Oregon alone there are some 18k people who are homeless.

Despite there being shelter options out there as well, not everyone might want to go into those places for one reason or another. Restrictions on their daily living can be one quick way to get people to avoid entering the facility for example.

Billions has ben sent to Ukraine for a seemingly never ending war, but how much would it take to build tiny home communities for thousands of people who need it?

There has to be some solution available aside from ignoring the problem or restricting creative and innovative solutions that could help.

There are 3D printing projects that can print homes within a few hours, the homelessness issue shouldn't be what it is today because there are ways to address it. There are fast and cost effective solutions but they aren't being utilized to the point of making a significant dent in the population. It's confusing why political leaders don't make more meaningful changes to address this problem.

ban on camping?

Now it seems that a group of homeless people in Portland are also suing the city over a daytime camping ban, they've filed a class action lawsuit over restrictions that prevent daytime camping which some have referred to as cruel and unreasonable.

Those behind the fight argue that it violates Oregon law as well as the state constitution, with the punishment of jail time or fines for people who get caught engaging in the prohibited daytime camping activities. They are fighting to allegedly get an order from the court to stop the city from enforcing these sorts of restrictions until the overall issue can be further resolved.

"There are 3D printing projects that can print homes within a few hours..."

You can't print land. Where do you propose to print those homes? Tents are much less expensive and can be moved when welcomes wear out, making them more suitable to the plight of the homeless. The problem isn't lack of tents, or sleeping quarters, which can be cobbled up out of scraps easily. When I joined this platform I was living in a tool trailer I learned to weld by making from bed frames I purchased at Goodwill for $20, and an old, rusty flatbed trailer a farmer gave me. I wouldn't have been able to do that if I hadn't had permission from the farmer to do it on his land.

He wouldn't have given me permission had I been shitting on his porch, or shooting up in the trailer. There are very good reasons communities do not have any interest in hordes of filthy animals living around their children, and my experience shows that people that respect others are able to solve their problems without government money.

Thanks!

Edit:

"It's confusing why political leaders don't make more meaningful changes to address this problem."

It is confusing because it doesn't make sense until you realize political leaders are corrupt, and they are paid to create the problem. That may be confusing until you realize that the banksters corrupting politicians are part of the WEF, minions of BlackRock that seeks to impose a NWO, a global technocratic totalitarian tyranny. If you've ever decided to replace an old worn out structure with a nice new one, you will realize their problem. They cannot just setup a tyranny and tell people that's their new government, because the old far less tyrannical governments still exist. They have to destroy the old governments before they can impose the new tyranny.

That is why there is massive immigration being encouraged by corrupt politicians, because that enables the state to hemorrhage welfare money that the state cannot sustain, which will destroy the government the banksters want to replace. Because the banksters own the centralized means of production, and people have been trained from birth to depend on those supplies, even if the people revolt and institute revolutionary governments, the banksters can prevent those revolutionary government from being able to supply the needs of the people. It would be necessary for the people to adopt decentralized means of production to supply their needs themselves, and like a miracle decentralized means of production have recently advented, and people could supply their needs themselves, if only they knew they could. But they have not been told they can, do not believe it, and intend to remain dependent on centralized production for their needs.

As long as this remains true, the banksters will impose the NWO on populations. It is the people themselves that must make their freedom, as I did when I made the tool trailer myself. We are the saviours we need, the heroes we deserve. If we merit freedom and prosperity, we will make it. Not all of us will make it.
