High School Day Highlights: Coronation of King and Queen and Showcasing of Talents

Every Year we celebrated High School as part of reminiscing or celebrating the school's opening of the secondary department. That is why we celebrated our High School Day in January since the school was signed and approved to become an Integrated School in January. There was a year when we joined the celebration of the high school day on the school's fiesta every January in honor of Sr Santo Niño to make the fiesta more festive since the activity of the school fiesta at that time was only having a rosary and lunch. While on the afternoon no more actively was done. So, it came to our mind that why not have our High school day during fiesta so that we can have our Sinulog dance competition and coronation of king and queen? Aside from that, we can save on our expenses. But we only had that one time because the elementary Department would not agree with what we did. We don't know what's the reason behind but we just follow what they want. For this year we celebrated our High School Day Last February 14, 2024. One of the highlights of the celebration is the Coronation of Schools King and Queen 2024 and the showcasing of Talent. The basis for choosing our King and Queen was the candidate who had the greatest amount of cash in the envelope placed in the box during the last counting.

Before the coronation, we hired somebody to decorate our stage. We arranged the covered court with chairs and tables for our guests and candidates so that the venue would be nice and presentable.

When almost 5:00 pm we had our dinner together with our guests and the parents of the candidate. After eating, a few minutes later we started the coronation.

We started our coronation at exactly 6:30.Its almost 30 minutes late since we waited for our guest speakers who will crown our King and Queen 2024. We begin by having our professional together with our guests and with a prayer followed by the singing of the National Anthem. Then the entrance of our Majesty and the farewell march of our previous King and Queen. The secondary teachers performed a welcome dance. During the coronation rites, Students showcased their various talents through dancing and singing. Every year level performed different presentations like festivals, folk dances, social dances K-Pop, Retro, hiphop, and Theatrical dance. The dance and Glee Club showed also their fantastic talent during the event. Students did their best in their performance making our event fabulous despite the expenses we had during the event. I'm so thankful to all the parents of the candidates, students and PTA officers, guests for their unwavering support and commitment to make the event successful and meaningful.
