Embark on a Journey of Self-Discovery With Cycling

Learning how to ride a bicycle wasn't much of a great deal for me and that was because my grand mother helped me so much during that phase and she made it look so easy since she knows all the tricks involved when it comes to riding a bicycle smootly. Ever since, I have never stopped using the slightest opportunity I have to ride a bicycle even though I don't have one.

Recently, I told my dad that I was going to buy a bicycle and his response shocked me. He said I have owned a car before and why would I want to downgrade myself to riding a bicycle. Like seriously, what's bad for someone who previously owned a car to decide to get a bicycle for himself? Like what kind of mentality is this? Does getting a bicycle make me downgrade myself? Even someone that owns a car have see reasons to get a bicycle because a car can't serve do what a bicycle can do.

Trust me, I had to sit him down to sensitize him about this little things that really don't matter and the importance of a bicycle. After our conversation, he saw reasons with me and he told that he wouldn't stop me from getting a bicycle if I feel that's what I want. It's always difficult winning my dad in any argument but I actually came out of this victorious and that's because I was motivated by what the simple yet effective machine called bicycle can actually do.

Guys, I have always believed that cycling is a journey of self-discovery and not just a mode of transportation or a form of exercise as most people think. Honestly, I see cycling beyond how people see it. I see it as a way to explore the world around and within us. When we ride a bicycle, we are in control; we decide where we want to go, how fast we want to go, and when we want to stop. We are free to roam at our own pace, taking in the sights and sounds in the process.

I feel cycling is a great way to connect with nature because as we ride, we can feel the wind in our hair, the sun on our skin, and the ground beneath our wheels. I think I am right to say that cycling makes us become one with the world around us literally. Do we know that cycling can also help us to build confidence and self-esteem? I guess so many people don't know this but it really helps when it comes to building out confidence and self esteem because as you challenge yourself and push beyond your limits, you will learn that you are capable of more than you thought possible.

Cycling is way more than just a physical experience since it helps our mental and emotional health because as we ride, we can easily clear our head and focus on the present moment. During that process, we can easily let go of our worries and stresses and simply enjoy the ride. Trust me, if you are looking for a way to improve your physical and mental health, to connect with nature, and to embark on a journey of self-discovery, then cycling is the activity for you.

Now should you want to get started with cycling, here are some of the things I have put together that you need to know which would help you in your journey of self discovery.

  1. You need to choose the right bicycle for your needs. You can agree with me that there are many different types of bicycles available, so it is important to choose one that is right for your height, weight, and riding style.

  2. You need to start slowly and gradually increase your distance and speed. Please don't try to do too much too soon, or you will risk getting injured.

  3. The need for helmet can't be over emphasized. It is important to protect yourself in case of a fall so you need to always wear a helmet and other safety gear.

  4. You need to be aware of your surroundings/environment and learn to obey all traffic laws.

So what are you waiting for? Get yourself a bicycle, start cycling today and embark on a journey of self-discovery.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

There's nothing wrong owning a car and having a bicycle at the same time both has their functions. It's true that bicycle helps us make much discovery concerning nature and that's discovery.
