Looking into Splinterlands crypto here on Hive in todays write up, how to get them, and their primary functions. Since the more you learn the more you will earn, knowledge will be the primary driving force behind your Splinterlands earning potential over the next year. Dont worry like all posts this still contains an NFT airdrop I'm just going to focus on crypto today as a section of the NFT industry as a whole.

DEC

Lets start off with the basics DEC Dark Energy Crystal the primary earnings and payment method on Splinterlands. DEC has a myriad of uses and comes from several sources. Earned via wining a ranked match or in a reward chest, also the payment method when selling or reward from burning cards in game.

The amount of DEC earned and spent in the in game store fluctuates based on a persons inclusion in a guild & the level of said guilds buildings. Not to mention the current rank of your account which tier your in, & which cards you used.

Given that your DEC earnings potential has a direct effect on the SPS airdrop you may want to increase your skills in game as well as your account power. Getting into and staying in a Guild will help your rewards significantly this is why I implore you to work on game strategy.

Blockchain games and investment strategy in my mind are somewhat tied to the skill of the player in certain cases. Splinterlands requires the ownership of certain assets value that is true but strategy plays an important role as well its a healthy mix.

You notice how this pack is cheaper right, as are all DEC purchases for members of a higher level guild.

This is strictly from the in game market however the DEC capture rate or how much you win is affected by the same part of a guild via members donating DEC to their guild.

See my Guild is currently level 5 this level effects both the members DEC capture rate and in game DEC/credits store price. Though lvl 5 offers a sizable difference in the DEC capture rate and price a guild can go to level 10.

Guild brawls increase your guilds standing & this will become increasingly important as the land plots are introduced.

Tips and tricks DEC

So for my tip on the DEC its simple use credits for purchases when allowed to.

You can change the payment method on the (P2P) Peer to Peer in game market
from DEC to Credits.

Potions I only buy in credits as the credits dont fluctuate DEC does but their price doesn't account for the flux. So when comparing credit purchases to DEC purchases when talking specifically potions the price isn't taken into account. This means for potions you pay the same number of both credits and DEC though the DEC holds a higher value.

SPT

SPT (Splintertalk Tokens) I keep bringing this token up because new players need to know about SPT that it applies to the SPS airdrop & you can earn it Via blogging.

SPS

The big dog on campus Splintershards all of this is about them, & their airdrop after all. Now with the Staking being active we will begin to recognize its true power voting, staking, and delegation. Since thus far I have yet to test the full scope of the SPS abilities I can only tell you what I know from staking in game.

Governance a vote in a games purposed upgrades this is a revolutionary development giving players a form of agency. Delegation of voting power will function as quote

"Similar to the ability to proxy witness votes on the Hive blockchain, Splinterlands players will be able to proxy their voting rights via their staked SPS tokens to another account. Please note that this will ONLY proxy voting rights for in-game governance proposals. The staked SPS tokens will still be in the original owner's account and can be used to stake on players and participate in promotions as normal."

You see the airdrop isn't the best part of SPS just the first par but as it continues to evolve so to does the distributions mechanisms and importance. Delegation and liquidity not to mention staking a quote from the SPS white paper.

"Staked SPS tokens can (but are not required to) be staked on a particular player which will allow both the SPS holder and the player to earn rewards based on the player's performance.

SPS holders may stake their SPS on themselves and/or other players and they may spread their stake among any number of different players that they choose. Players may also choose to limit the players who may stake SPS on them to their guild members, a specific list of accounts, or leave it open for anyone to stake SPS tokens on them. Additionally, staked SPS tokens can be added and removed from players at any time without any time limits or restrictions.

Both the Ranked Battles pool and the SPS Staking Rewards pool will work similarly to how the DEC rewards for ranked battles work currently. After every ranked battle, a number of "reward shares" will be calculated for the winner based on the winner's ranked ladder rating, their Energy Capture Rate (ECR), and any modifiers such as the use of gold cards, win streak, and guild or other bonuses.

Then the reward shares value will be adjusted based on the amount of SPS tokens staked on that player in total. The formula for adjusting the reward shares based on SPS tokens staked is as follows:"

So not only is having a great deal of money in your account important but your overall skills as a player can be a contributing factor.

This kind of mechanism is a first for me at least and it sorta has me nerding out I appreciate good work with blockchain smart contract functionality. Especially when we are talking games this kind of insight into how SPS distribution functions is extremely important.

You see this SPS mechanism will last longer and will inevitably generate more then the airdrop.

13.3% over 12 months compared to 30% over 65 months no contest this will inevitably generate the most SPS overall.

Liquidity and oracle rewards are also a sizable chunk of that same metric so its an average over the 3 one would assume. Personally I'm staking and running liquidity at the same time win win.

As the amount of SPS staked is more or less untouchable when staked for 25 days its a risk but gradually by splitting my airdrop rewards I have the feeling I'm getting enough in both the Staking and liquidity.


Slow and steady while leaving room for instant access if needed to a % of my overall SPS.

Strategy

Now I'm no professional player but I have a fairly good idea of how to play Splinterlands. Keep in mind I'm just giving you the basics its up to you and your own account on which strategy works best in a given match.

one of my recent matches you see above round 1 they have the match rules listed which in this match are no shields and no healing. Knowing that I being the player on the bottom didn't use the healing ability or the units with more shields. Also I always try to utilize the Reach ability in my second position.

With a tank in slot 1 meant to take damage & dish it out.

So 1st & 2nd slots are melee attack with out having to be in first position attacking simultaneously. Usually melee units have to be in the first position to attack inversely archer units cant attack in first position. This is why I use the first 2 as the Melee attack with reach on the second and after that monsters with magic attack.

The chicken is a blocker meant to take a hit for a better card. After that I have 2 magic attack types the Efreet elder on the end has the last stand ability.

Its all about which abilities you have and the limitations of each round balancing both gives you a better chance of success.

About half way through fairly even match but it could go either way

though both of us had Efreet Elders with last stand and theirs gold no less I still win because they made a few mistakes.

My team before my efreet held out just that little extra time gave me the win, typically players don discus strategy as that is giving our rivals insight into our battle plan. My build is different then what you may have but you should focus on playing each matches restrictions to your advantage or mitigate its impact.

Play games to earn crypto a novel concept which was once viewed as a pipe dream surprisingly becoming a reality. Not to mention the games despite the system requirements once required to function are still advancing rapidly as the crypto sector evolves.

Holy crap this makes three of these in a month

Play to earn is now what has got the highest blockchain Dapp user metrics.

Blockchain activity indicates what I had been saying months ago is happening the consumer market mass adoption. Different then the original mass adoption of investors this will be a boom based on utility and accessibility of the Blockchain assets not necessarily just a financial medium. Meaning the reason Hive and WAX are on the top 5 blockchains for usage is their appeal to a consumer market.

Weekly Challenge! CAVE SLUGS

Remember the NFT I said jokingly was going to the moon Cave Slug well this little bug is this weeks Share your battle challenge.

Now lets begin with what tier I'm in currently silver rank 2 for this battle with a mana cap of 36 with the modifier magic weaken active.

My summoner is sorta cheating but I did use the cave slug, not cheating just unfair.

I'm on the bottom incase your unsure, but round 2 & I appear to be loosing?

My summoner brought the frontline creature back from the dead with resurrection.

Not looking great for me but note the legendary monster is still full health due to my summoners other ability that repairs armor.

See its not the cards you have left its their capability this is why I keep a tank on both ends if I can. Unfortunately we lost the cave slug but not the war.
