THE TERRIFYING CAR EXPERIENCE

My very first inclination was to share how quite a number of times, I get in on a bus only to get sandwiched and in the end, I pay my suffocator's transport fare. Not like anyone asked me to but we'll, seeing I barely get to sit comfortably, that's what it seems.

Anyways, that's what we on the small side get to face sometimes. But I try to never sit in the middle. Preferably, I sit in front or take cabs/shuttle buses as they accommodate a lesser number of people per seat-roll although the charge is a little higher.

But then, this isn't my craziest car experience. I've had some really good experiences, barely any bad bad save for one. That one happened in 2021(or was it 2022? I can't recall.)

I was going home from my brother's place where I had gone to visit him for the weekend. Actually, I had gone to surprise him, as well as celebrate birthday with/for him. It was nice there.

The morning I was to head home, he accompanied me to the park, I got my bus ticket, boarded and we were doon on our way. Shortly into the journey, it began to rain. Was just light showers at first but soon and then it rained heavily. The driver, an elderly man, who should be no less than sixty years of age at the time began to go slower, which was fine. Much later, i observed that he lacked a little bit of coordination but I didn't bother much.

Problems started when along the way, we almost hit a roadblock. Another time, he caught the brake so hastily, everyone on the bus jerked. Passengers asked him to just park the vehicle so we could wait for the rain to subside but he refused, saying that he could handle the road. And then, things went bad.

While journeying, I mostly wear an earphone. I play some music but not at full volume. That time, I had my eyes glued to my phone's screen and only jerked when I heard screams. Before I could look up to know what it was, I felt the collision to something large.
It happened that this very huge truck running at speed hit our bus. It wasn't a head-on collision, just a brush of the truck, but the impact was greatly felt. The truck driver did not even stop to see what he may had done. The part of the bus that i was in that got hit by the truck fell off. Completely. That was my closest experience with an something that scary. My heart beat so fast against my chest.

Since I sat just by the window side, on the part where the crash occurred, for days, I nursed an aching waist. it was terrible. Things happened so quick.

As you would guess, it was only then that the driver stopped the car. Literally, he didn't. The truck was coming in his direction and when he saw it up close(rather too late to divert), his hands flew away from the steering.

On a big road as the one we used, there are always too lanes. What really occured was that the driver who was finding it difficult to see due to the downpour had unknowingly made to use the opposite lane and the truck driver was going at speed. Fortunately, as I choose to believe, the truck driver who couldn't come to an abrupt stop could only try to avoid the bus as he could. And the best that could be done to stop a bad accident was that side-brush. I guess he didn't even stop because he probably assumed some very serious casualties had occured.

In the end, we all got off the bus. There was a gas station there. Some people put calls to whoever, one or two called the bus company management, a guy took pictures, and all that. All I did was look for a place to sit and catch my breath. I still recall some of the thoughts that ran through my head that day.
It was only like what I had seen in pictures and movies. I could never wish to experience that ever again. It was crazy.

Oh so sorry about the wrist, I sometimes avoid buses driven by old people. That is something that I always feel wrong about
