THE RUFFLING, IRRITATING SOUND(S)

Any sound that irritates me so much should be termed noise, isn't it? This is what I consider most of these. Well, personally a good number of sounds get to me. I realized too, though, that some persons dont find it as disturbing as i do.

Because i enjoy and thrive in calm and quiet so much and feel a thumping in my chest at every slight sound that i dislike(sometimes too, even for one's I like, especially if I think of them as loud), I did some little learning and found that I may be dealing with misophonia. I don't assume much discoveries has been made as regards it yet. But it definitely describes what I feel.

Very little sounds come off exaggerated to me. A lot of times, some other persons don't get why I get so pissed by them. Sounds like people talking at the top of their voices, sirens wailing, dogs barking, tires screeching, baby crying(it's always a mixed feeling of irritation at and pity for the child plus that tinge in my eardrum), very loud sounds from speakers. Then there's those chewing, slurping, licking sounds people make while eating. While I understand that it's almost inevitable that people do not make any, however subdued, there's the really crass, ungraceful, loud and messy ones that can be very gross. Yuck!

Ah-ha! Mosquitoes. Those bloody creatures that make the most whiny, buzzing, ear-splitting, body-itching sound ever. The sound of a mosquito in my ear drives me nuts. I don't need to explain this. I don't think anyone ever enjoys or finds it easy to deal with that sound.

Then there's also the sound of shuffling feet. That "skrummm...ppshhh" argh! That stuff jitters me so much, I could cry. It's common in crowded places and while it puts me off, I can hold myself for the while. But when it happens indoors, especially at the time when I am struggling to sleep, it ruffles me. Jeez! The mere thought of it alone has chills running through me. Terrible!

Finally, there's the sound of alarms and ringtones. Weird, I know. And of course, my phone never rings out loud. It's always on silent. And no, I barely miss calls as I always have my device handy and see messages or calls come in whenever. The thing about ringtones go way back. They just have a way to disorganize(or do i say make me nervous) and ruffle me in that time.
There might be a number of other sounds that I don't like (definitely, there are more), but these ones, I could most easily remembered.

I know this prompt only asked one sound but I couldn't compartmentalize them to most or least irritating. They all stand together.
Well, that is it for now.

Thanks for gracing this post.
Greetings!

Mosquitoes, annoying. Shuffling feet, irritating. But the part of putting your phone in silence, missing an important call may be devastating sometimes. How about reducing the volume if it annoys you, with that you can be sure of it ringing and at the same time not making noise to you. Funny man! Interesting write-up.
