LIFE WITHOUT SOCIAL MEDIA

Social media is now the hub or should I say, the bedrock of interactions. Most of our daily living now revolve around it.

Almost everything needed and sort for; commodities and information is available in all of the online platforms. It is even a major jobspace for so many, especially regarding how youth who were previously jobless and idle are now meaningfully engaged.

I really cannot identify nor tell of myself as a social media person. WhatsApp is the one platform I use the most. Still, I am a ghost user, barely using all the fdatures. Facebook comes in next, but it only is handy for online transactions, searches and just to read writers I fancy. And that's where it stops for me. And of course, I cannot leave out Hive. The only other platform I belong with. The one where I'm most active.

I've had my "no social media" times. You know, I just stay away from all of the online drama for a certain period of time and get in tune with myself and my environment a little.

Evidently, my social media life is boring. I guess you can already tell. Even when I hear of how very entertaining other platforms can be, it still doesn't make me feel like I am left out enough to want to sign up and join in on the fun. Many times, I tell myself I need to up my game and get some good presence in at least one platform but I never go through with it. Truth is, I don't know how best to start up that journey.

But even as much as I don't have a strong media life, it wouldn't be a walk in the park to have to live without social media. The exception would only be if I never have had to live with the media before but since I already tasted the online life, well...

First, my social interactions will reduce drastically. I rather have chats on WhatsApp than go out for physical meets. Absence of media means, I would not have that fun anymore.
And garnering information is one thing I like to do online. To read too. These too would have to be a memory..
Also, I earn online. That would be a huge loss for me.

Still, with the new change, I (we) will adapt. My interactive skill will improve, or not. Other means of learning, getting information and earning will come to play. My eyesight will improve(or should I say, it would not suffer so much). Figuring things and adapting is one brilliant aspect of human nature.

My life without the media would not be bleak. I'll get involved more with my physical environment and do more physical activities and get my hands busy with something other than my phone's keypad. A few days, maybe a week without social media always leaves me feeling really calm and overall, balanced, so you can only imagine what long term will be like.

I'm certain I'd miss the fluidity of the online life and I also know, my life would be good and, even better.

In the life before social media, there was definitely an advantage that people used to chat with each other and laugh with each other, but since the advent of mobile phones, now all people are busy inside their mobile phones.

People actually lived full lives without the media. We would too if it is taken away but it will take time to adapt
