EVENTS OF NEW YEAR'S DAY

My!! The first was a day. Very interestingly cool. Not very much happened but I was impressed by how things went. Let's start from the top.

All through, from the new year's Eve, we stayed awake. Myself and my cousin were in the living room seeing a new year's crossover fest. My attention was divided between that and my phone.

By the early hours of the new year, we all gathered and made a prayer- of gratitude. After that, we shared felicitations and hugs and went back to seeing the TV. I took calls that early in the day and put some across too. It was nice. I think I slept at around 4am. And I forgot to mention; the fireworks that day was almost terrifying.

When I awoke later in the morning, I went by my chores. By this time, the guys were out to play football. We didn't think they'd get back not-so-early and so we waited without eating. Ha!
Then the devil(of course, who else) whispered to my cousin that we should soak garri. Like who? On the first of the year? I couldn't. Nah! Someone else had to say the opening prayer for that chapter. We had lots of laughter onit, especially about being the first people to soak garri this year. There was snacks at home but she said they're not as filling. I declined.
Well, we had to take oats first. She went ahead to eat some snacks too.

The guys returned shortly and my cook-a-thon started. Cooking na work abeg. Ha! It was exhausting as it was satisfying. For breakfast brunch, we made fried plantain, egg sauce and milky pap.
When we were done, one of the guys slaughtered and dressed the chicken. We marinated, cooked it. I cooked some rice, made chicken and catfish peppersoup too. It turned out delicious. Was my first time ever of making that one and YouTube helped a lot, especially with how to wash the catfish. By this time it was almost dark. I couldn't make stew as proposed that evening, so we had that. I said I was going to deliver in the cooking aspect and I did.

Usually for me, the new year's day is just another day. Literally, isn't it?Against all the shouts of excitement, fireworks and the large pots balanced in different kitchens sending nice aromas filling the place, isn't it?

The day was a fun day for me. We talked a lot. Laughed so much. Saw some programs on TV (I was too busy to even concentrate). Screamed our "happy new year" whenever a relative called. We had enough to much fun.

I had issues trying to participate in the HPUD. Spent the moments in between my busy-ness to try to make the transactions to no avail. Almost got pissed by that but I found a way to navigate. The "A way"- I just ditched it to write on something else since it was getting late in the day with no headways made. I'm glad I did so cause I may not have made any post at all considering I was fatigued from the whole exercise. It wasn't anything much, but then...

I don't think I'd have wanted anything else. All I needed, I had; family, good food, hearty laughter. It was just great for me.

Thanks for gracing this post.
Greetings!

Hmm like a very normal day 😅
I think it's the together with family that counts, you get to eat good foods too.

Being with family was enough. The other things are just icing on the cake
