Cosmic Creation Edition #8: Hide and Seek

Mother nature though mysterious had bounteous love for all her children, even those who don't get along well.
My plan was to vividly depict this, the beautiful rivalry between nature's children.
On one end you have the racoon who's being chased by the dog hiding behind a bark. Of course it's only a matter of time before he is sniffed out and caught but then the moment is tense and at the same time intriguing.
You so can tell that the dog is an old dog hence its patience and neutral face.
This is the first time I'll be entering this contest so I'd like to know how well I did. Thank you.
