Helping a school in Venezuela Updates

Crowdfunding

So, first things first, we dove into #crowdfunding and set up a GoFundMe page. The idea was to reach out to our fam, friends, and coworkers and see if they'd chip in with some small donations. Here's the link if you're interested: https://www.gofundme.com/f/agustin-aveledo-high-school

The tricky part with GoFundMe or any kind of Funding platform was that it got flagged and shut down pretty quickly because we mentioned #Hive. So, I had to tweak our story a bit, which kinda sucked because it meant folks wouldn't grasp the main goal of our project - creating a financially sustainable school. No wonder we're not seeing many donations.

Venezuelan Embassies and Organizations

Next up, we went hunting for a list of Venezuelan Embassies worldwide, and thanks to @nahupuku and @orimusic, we scored the whole list and shot off emails to each one. Check out the list here: https://mppre.gob.ve/embajadas/

Once the embassy emails were out, we started scouting for non-profit #organizations and #foundations that had a track record of supporting Venezuela related projects. As soon as we had a solid list, we fired off emails to the whole bunch.

Facebook

After waiting a day with zero responses, we decided to stick to our game plan. Meanwhile, @orimusic and @nahupuku began hitting up Facebook groups and pages, asking admins to share our project. Turns out, most of these groups were ghost towns with zero activity. Not exactly prime real estate for spreading the word about our project.

Seeing as #Web2 wasn't really cutting it and folks weren't exactly jumping for joy at what we're trying to do, we figured it was time to shift our focus to finding support in the realm of #Web3.

Hive

Since peaople in the Web3 scene already have a good handle on what #Crypto and #Blockchain can do, we were able to dive into the full story. This is finally the more possitive part of our updates 🙂

So, our Project Pilot article did really well on Hive, thanks to a great start by #OCD and the votes and comments by all of you! It trended for a while, so a lot of Hivians saw it. The article was all about raising #awareness and funding this project with the rewards it generated. It's pretty amazing to see how much we were able to contribute to the total amount.

Selling Splinterlands Cards

Then we got an awesomn comment from @conan123 who said that if you buy his 1$ gf harvesters on @Splinterlands that he will donate to the school the first 100$ from sales. I don't know about you, but is is an icredible donation and so far he was able to Donate about 49 HIVE. So if any of you play #Splinterlands and are looking for Gold Foil harvesters or want to help us out reaching that 100$, then you can buy them from @conan123.

Then we had another Donation by our youngest member @Dovycola. This little man wanted to give everything he had, but I told him that a small amount is more then enough so he Donated 10 HBD. Thank you Dovi ❤️

CBRS Team

Also other team members are helping as much as they can. Our good friend @bambukah delegated a total of 1000 HP. That's really amazing! Also thank you @Tibfox for delegating HP as well and making a difference.

Chinees Community

We also got a 3 HIVE tip on our article by @jychbetter who is also an admin of the Chinees community https://peakd.com/c/hive-105017/created. Thank you for your support and spreading the word to your community.

Ecency Community

So, shoutout to @melinda010100 and @ph1102 for hooking us up with an invite to the "Hive Humpday Hangout" on @Ecency's talk show. I was super pumped to chat about CBRS and our projects, but I gotta admit, I was a tad nervous since it's such a big deal. It was awesome to see so many people tuning in and asking questions. We are happy we were able to spread awareness about what we can achieve with this project. Huge thanks to the #Ecency community for always being so supportive. We really appreciate all your help!

Monero Community

In addition to raising awareness about Hive, we also engaged with various other blockchain communities, including #Monero. Through a member of our team at CBRS, we discovered a funding platform called #Kuno, which operates on the Monero network, and decided to give it a shot.

Upon registering our project on Kuno and sharing it on Twitter, we were amazed to receive our first supporter within just one hour. It was truly incredible to see someone from the Monero community, who didn't even know us, step forward to offer assistance. A big thank you to them!

Following that, we opted to engage with the #Monero Community via Telegram. We sought permission from the admins to share a link to our project on Kuno, and a member named "John," who found our project intriguing, graciously posted the link in the group. As expected, there were individuals who embraced the #idea wholeheartedly, while others expressed skepticism, which is quite common in the crypto world given its prevalence of scams.

We also received a Twitter tag inviting us to participate in the Monero Show, #Monerotopia. We eagerly anticipate next week's Tuesday, when we'll have the opportunity to present our project during the "Viewers on Stage" segment. Our aim is to raise awareness and, hopefully, secure additional #funding.

Bitcoin Funding on Geyser

Once we got some #support from Monero we started looking for any other Crowdfunding apportunities in the crypto world. That's when we came across #Geyser. This is a #Bitcoin based platform and it's full of all kinds of projects but so far not too many eyes on ours.

It was great to see that the #Team contacted us on Twitter personally asking more about the projects and giving some feedback and advice how to best use their website.

We are still talking and bainstorming how to make this work.

What are the next steps?

I believe that the most crucial aspect is publishing articles on Hive and utilizing the rewards for funding purposes. We'll be sharing images on @liketu using one of the CBRS accounts, @like2cbrs. As for our weekly giveaways, we've decided to halt them with our giveaway account, @cbrsgiveaways, as it tends to generate too much spam and involves excessive tagging of other users, which isn't enjoyable for anyone.
Additionally, with assistance from @guiltyparties, we hope to organize an art contest at the school. All the art will be Hive related and once we have collected all of then we will convert them to #NFT's and add them to @nftshowroom were you will be able to buy them and support the project. We want to also give prizes to the kids, so I hope we can have some support from @valueplan.
Next week Tuesday we will try and participate in Monero Talkshow called 'Monerotopia'. We are hoping that after short presentation of our project during the "Viewers on Stage" time we will get the chance to participate as speakers in on of their shows.
Even though we are loosing hope on #web2 we are still going to start more crowdfundings on websites such as:

We are going to contact #Crypto related companies and see if tey will be kind enough to donate some $ to the cause.
Then we are going to contact art schools to see if they could arange a Digital Art Contest ant turn them into #NFT's so that they could be sold to fund the project.
We will also continue looking into different Crypto funding platforms and contact Crypto communities around the world.
And we will continue looking vor Venezuelan communities that are willing to support this project and spread the word.
