Helping a school in Venezuela Updates

Hello everyone, ❤️ We hope you're all doing well. It's been a while since our last update, and we're eager to share what we've been up to during this time. We had to pause our regular updates because we were deeply involved in organizing a Poster #contest, which required our full attention. Alongside this, we spent considerable time discussing the necessary #repairs for our project and gathering all the crucial details to move forward effectively.

In this #update, we're excited to share several key pieces of information with you. First, we'll talk about our current #financial status and how far we've come in terms of funds. We believe it's important to keep you informed about our financial health and how it's impacting our project's progress.

Next, we'll dive into the Hive poster contest we organized just a week ago. The contest was a fantastic opportunity for artists to showcase their talents, and we were blown away by the submissions we received. We're looking forward to showing you the amazing #artwork that was created for the contest and celebrating the creativity of our community.

Furthermore, we've prepared a detailed list of the materials we need to acquire for our project. This list not only includes the materials but also outlines all the work that needs to be done, along with a detailed breakdown of the costs involved. We believe transparency is key, and we want you to know exactly where we stand and what needs to be accomplished.

But that's not all. We also want to give you a sneak peek into the next steps we plan to take. Our #journey is far from over, and we have exciting plans in the pipeline that we can't wait to share with you. Additionally, we've initiated a huge contest at the school that promises to be both engaging and rewarding. We're thrilled about this initiative and believe it will bring great value to our project and community.

So, we invite you to sit back, relax, and join us as we dive deeper into these updates. We're grateful for your continued #support and enthusiasm, and we can't wait to share all the latest developments with you. Let's explore what's new and what's next together.

Hive Art Contest

To add a touch of excitement and to promote the #competition we're hosting at the school in #Venezuela, we've decided to launch a mini art contest on Hive. The goal is to create artistic posters that symbolize the Hive #Art Contest at the school, inviting students to join in. This isn't just about winning prizes; it's an opportunity for students to artistically express their interpretation of #Hive, considering all the aspects provided.

Seeing Hivians come together to participate and support our project was truly heartwarming. Given the contest was for a meaningful cause, we had hoped for even more #artists, especially those from Venezuela, to join and lend their support to #Venezuela.

Nevertheless, we were fortunate to receive 9 incredible posters from @eve66, @smile27, @moretea, @jordangerder, @japex1226, @ikigaidesign, @trayan, @anibal-aa, and @avdesing. A huge thank you to each of you for your creativity and support. Below is the list of all the submitted posters:

Here are the three winning Posters:

1st place @japex12262nd place @smile273rd place @ikigaidesign

The original plan was to print out 1st place winners poster, but then last minute we decided to print out all three of them. This way we hope to get even more attention at the #school and more artistic students to enter this competition.

Thanks to @orimusic and @nahupuku we now have three amazing posters together with contest information hanging in the hall of the school.

The cost of everything in #Venezuela has skyrocketed. We found ourselves paying $5 for each poster, which seemed reasonable, despite the printing machine's odd inability to properly print the color yellow, leading to some errors. Nevertheless, the #posters turned out quite nice. The real sticker shock came when we wanted to print the contest information in color on A4 paper, with a run of 200 copies. The quoted price of $3 per page was jaw-dropping. We immediately declined and began searching for a more affordable option or alternative solution.

Thankfully, through the incredible teamwork of @nahupuku and @orimusic, we managed to print a limited quantity at their workplace for free. It's unfortunate that the #students won't be able to take the information home to read, but at least they have the opportunity to read it on the wall during their breaks and possibly jot down the details on a piece of paper.

If you're curious about the information we provided to the students, grab a cup of tea or coffee and enjoy reading.

Hive Contest Details

The first page is dedicated to introducing Hive to the kids in a #fun and straightforward manner.

The second page outlines various aspects of Hive, but with a twist of #creativity in the explanation.

It'll be fascinating to see how they interpret Hive with this information and creatively express it through their art.

Page 1
What is Hive?

Imagine you have a giant #LEGO set, and you and your friends are all building something together with it. Each LEGO piece can be thought of as a little bit of information. In the world of #computers, we have something called the Hive #Blockchain, which works kind of like this LEGO game, but instead of LEGO pieces, people are using digital pieces of information.

Hive is special because it's like a huge #playground where everyone can see what everyone else is building, but no one can mess up what you've created without #permission. This is because once you add your LEGO piece to the structure, it snaps in so securely that it can't be taken off easily. This makes sure that what you build stays safe and exactly the way you wanted it.

Also, imagine if every time you added a piece to your creation, you got a small #reward, like a sticker or a candy. Hive does something similar by giving rewards to people who contribute useful information or help the #community in some way.

Another cool thing about Hive is that it's super fast and doesn't charge you anything to add your pieces to the structure. This is like having an endless supply of LEGO pieces and never having to clean up!

In summary, the Hive Blockchain is a fun and safe way to build and share things with people all over the world, and you can even get rewards for being a helpful part of the #community. Just like playing with LEGOs, but in a digital world!

20. Bridge of Voices: Hive acts as a bridge, carrying voices and ideas over vast distances, connecting hearts and minds in a shared space of respect and understanding.

Hive contest follow-up

We will see from results witch Hive #asspects are most interesting to the students and how they understand it. We will also know who might be interested to learn more about Hive.

Once the contest deadline is reached all the art has been handed in then @nahupuku is going to make good quality images of each art so we can create #NFTs and add them to the @nftshowroom Gallery for all of you to see.

Once that is done, the next step is to organize a gallery at the Museum of Fine Arts in Caracas. Everyone will be welcome to see these #Art peaces and ofcourse learn a bit more about Hive.

Just another way promoting Hive @guiltyparties 😉 Would be great if we could get some Hive T-Shirts and other cool Hive merch to give away.

Project Funding

Let's get back to the funding of our project. On the last update our total amount was $1000.

Te funding did not end up there and our pot kept on growing to a woping $1300.

Like always #Monero community kept on pushing forward by donating more and more XMR. So far we recieved a massive amount of 7 XMR and that's about $1000 from #Monero community alone.

On Hive, @OCD has been so important to this project. With the help of #OCD curation not only does our funding grow, but we are able to reach more people on the platform and finding even more support. Thank you @acidyo and the team on OCD. You guys are helping us create a better future for the kids.

As always @Ecency and the amazing @melinda010100 are promoting our project and getting ready for all the new onboarded studends and teachers.

We would also like to thank all the delegators for supporting the cause.

Next Steps

  1. Repair Classroom
The foremost priority is to address all necessary repairs in the classroom, ensuring it is safe and primed for Web3 courses.

  2. Show the Process to Monero
Keeping the #Monero Community informed about our progress is crucial, especially since they are significant contributors. With skepticism around the project's legitimacy, it's essential to promptly dispel any doubts.

  3. Buy Laptops
With sufficient funds still available, @Nahupuku and @Orimusic will embark on sourcing affordable, second-hand laptops. The immediate goal is to equip the students with basic #technology for accessing videos, engaging with Hive, and communicating with teachers.

  4. Paint Monero and Hive Art
A talented Venezuelan artist is currently creating digital #artwork for the Monero community, and will subsequently craft one for Hive. The completion of the Monero piece will be celebrated by sharing it with the community and adorning a classroom wall with its painted version.

  5. Get more Funding
An additional $200 is needed to fully realize our goals. We aim to have this #funding secured by this phase, setting the stage for the final step.

  6. Order Internet
The concluding step involves arranging and prepaying six months of internet service. This timeframe is designed to allow the school to familiarize itself with Hive, with the aim of generating enough #rewards to independently sustain internet expenses thereafter.

As always, we are trying to be as #transparent as possible. If you need any other informations or would like to support our project you can always contact us on our Discord channel.
